Has anyone done the 2 night weekend cruises in January? If so, any thoughts or information would be appreciated? I've been on the Breakaway before so know the ship. Looking more for information about what a 2 night is like and if everything is available. Also, what your experience with weather was.

The biggy is there is no room service unless you have a butler, Casino opens Friday night and stays open until about 5am Sunday morning, Real party atmosphere, slides and some outdoor venues will be closed, weather can be hit or miss.

We did the two nighter last January. The weather was nice. I walked on the waterfront on Saturday with only a light jacket. But others wore winter coats. It was about 50* out. The casino was very crowded and stakes were higher at the tables, but a lot of fun.

the two night cruise tends to be more of a party and drinking cruise not really a relaxing atmosphere. the weather is always iffy. In the casino you will find the table limits are higher and it usually packed. Yes they still have a show and most of the regular activities.

If you're staying for the 12 day cruise directly after and so have 2 weeks of luggage instead of an overnight bag, there are no porters at your check-in to help with your luggage. You have to carry all of it yourself upon boarding. I learned the hard way....All the entertainment is available. I think the ship made a U-turn somewhere around North Carolina.

My wife and were on the BA to Bermuda last July and had a very nice time. Between Christmas and New Years last year I noticed that prices were really dropping for the mid January CTN, so we booked on a whim as it was priced so reasonably - if I recall correctly it was about $149 apiece for a balcony cabin before taxes and all that stuff. It was a fun refresher of good time memories on the ship plus R&R. One of the places we never got to - just ran out of time- on the Bermuda cruise was Cagney's, so we went on one of the nights and had a really great three hour dinner. We went to several of the bars that we hadn't gotten to the first time around. I liked both the gym and spa treatments last summer and took advantage of both on the CTN. You don't get that full blown cruise experience like you do on a regular cruise, like room service breakfast for example, but at the price we paid we thought it was a fun spur of the moment weekend.

We did the full week to Bermuda last summer and the CTN Jan 17-19 2014. Easier to go over what they do not have: no fire works, no "tasting" of wine/beer/martini's/margaritas, no latitudes party, no room service and they did not have the Burn the Floor show. Otherwise everything else was on, 4 showings of ROA, 2nd city, and Cirque Dreams. Both nights they had activities in the Atrium, including the GLOW party, and Latin night in the Ultra Bliss lounge. Jazz club and Howl at the moon were rockin both nights. Also various musical acts at several lounges and the atrium along with karaoke and trivia.

One thing to keep in mind, very few people will be outside unless you have mild weather, so every venue was crowded, in particular when there was a musical act or trivia. When you go to any activity, go early. If you go plan out and reserve for the shows you can, you will save time and disappointment. A lot of energy on the CTN and they tend to be full. Kids programs were all running with their usual activities, but not as many kids as there are in the summer. We had a great time and we are going again celebrating my birthday, Jan. 17th. You can use a picture license to board, you do not need a passport. We did see groups of all ages, friends, families, men/ladies weekend, Drunk 1, 2, 3 and 4 (I kid you not, two groups had the take off on Thing 1,2,3 shirts from the Cat in the Hat). I would put most people late 30's to early 60's. There were a lot of people like us whose children were spending some quality time with their grandparents. We were out and about both nights and did not see anyone out of control, and the casino was pretty full late. Again biggest thing to prepare for is how crowded the venues were and to plan ahead as best you can with reservations. Getting off was quick and easy, though they wanted you out of your room by 8:30 am. Getting on there was no baggage service, but most just had a carry-on, so just drop your bags off at Bliss and go have lunch. I presume most people headed for the buffet, I would recommend Taste or Savor, one will be open, much more relaxing. High energy and a great time.
