When to buy drink package--no tax?

Recommended Posts

I know this has been covered before, but I just can't find the answer. If I m going to buy a drink package, is it better to buy it onboard in port or out of port? I am trying to avoid paying tax

We have never been charged state sales tax when purchasing packages on board the ship. Should be no difference.

One advantage to buying on board is that you can skip the first few days if you want. In other words, you can buy the package for the last part of the cruise, as long as you purchase for at least 4 days.
