SanDiego/Ensenada Pancan Cruise

Recommended Posts

We have been told that the October 22 pancan cruise departure has been changed from San Diego to Ensenad. Can anyone tell us why, how long is the bus ride and what are the port facilities like. The last time we were in Ensenada, several years ago, we were not impressed to say the least.

I'm not sure if your talking about the above referenced cruise or not, as the date doesn't seem to be correct, and there is no mention of which ship your sailing on.

The above referenced sailing had the ports changed from San Diego to Ensenada, then changed back to San Diego, with boarding at 2:00 p.m., and sailing at 11:00 p.m.

There is a thread started on the Roll Call section for this cruise.

Hope this helps.

I noticed that you have posted this question three separate times but have not replied to the post by GBean. If you are referring to the October 23 Radiance Panama Canal cruise, this change in departure port from San Diego to Ensenada and back to San Diego was discussed at length on the Meet and Mingle/Roll Call forum. As George indicated, the Radiance is currently scheduled to leave from San Diego. Hope this helps.

This cruise doesn't effect us, but we did do this same cruise last October, the reason for the late boarding time and departing time is because there are 3 other ships scheduled there besides Radiance of the Seas.

My question is for people that go into San Diego a day prior to the cruise what do they do between 11am and 2pm when everyone has to be out of all the hotels in the area or the people flying in the same day of cruise that get there before 12 Noon. Where are they suppose to go until 2pm?

Last year when we were there is was us and a Carnival ship for only 2 ships total and it was a REAL MESS........I can't imagine it with 4 ships in port there around the same time.

Just thought this information posted here might help some make plans for this.

Good Luck

Some hotel's will have late check-out (some charge more, some don't). If you rented a car put luggage in trunk and go to the Zoo or some other tourist area and enjoy until 2 PM. Drop family off at pier with luggage and return car , take their tranport to the pier. Another option would be to go to the pier and people watch.
