nygvic1950 Posted July 26, 2014 #1 Share Posted July 26, 2014 Looking at Carnival beverage policy it says you can bring 1 bottle of wine each in checked luggage. When sailing NCL or others, we have typically brought a case of wine on board (paying the corkage fee). Does Carnival not allow you to do that ?? loanshark Posted July 26, 2014 #2 Share Posted July 26, 2014 (edited) No... They don't allow more than 1 bottle per person. You may also be subject to a corkage fee on that one bottle if you consume it in any other place than your cabin. Socref124 Posted July 27, 2014 #5 Share Posted July 27, 2014 I agree with the posters above. It is very important that you have the wine in your carry on. If it is in your checked luggage it will be confiscated if found. This happened to us once and they didn't care that we misunderstood the policy. The wine was returned to us on the day we disembarked.

Carnival's policies are not the same as NCL as they ask that your wine be in your carry on bag.
CrusinCyndi Posted July 27, 2014 #7 Share Posted July 27, 2014 If we bring a bottle of wine onboard and we open it right before going to dinner in the dining room, would we still be charged a corkage fee ?
JohnSpo Posted July 27, 2014 #8 Share Posted July 27, 2014 If we bring a bottle of wine onboard and we open it right before going to dinner in the dining room, would we still be charged a corkage fee ?[/quotle] They may still charge you if you bring the bottle into the MDR. You can bring the wine in by the glass and be OK. You will have to pour it in the glass in your cabin or somewhere outside the MDR. Just keep the bottle out of sight. If you do bring the wine bottle into the MDR, they may or may not charge the corkage fee. You just never really know. I just try to fill the glass as much as possible without risking spilling any wine. Enjoy!

ah4sail Posted July 28, 2014 #10 Share Posted July 28, 2014 (edited) We brought a bottle to the MDR and were charged a $15 corkage fee! I thought that was ridiculous!! That was a couple weeks ago on the Splendor. Edited July 28, 2014 by ah4sail
