Colo Cruiser Posted July 31, 2014 #26 Share Posted July 31, 2014 This will be the longest cruise ever for us. So am definitely thinking soda & water and a $20. bill to deliver it to the cabin. If you are talking about a porter on the pier once they take the drinks/luggage from you and stack it in a cage they have no control on whether it gets to your cabin or not. dorisis Posted July 31, 2014 #27 Share Posted July 31, 2014 OK, I give up. Why do people pay perfectly good money for water to schlep onboard, rather than using a refillable, environmentally friendly bottle and the ship's perfectly pure supply? (Unless it's some mineral water you like the taste of.) Anybody? It's the icky plastic taste from the cheap thin plastic that's used.
BEFdoc Posted August 1, 2014 #28 Share Posted August 1, 2014 I can't seem to find any documentation on the number of bags each passenger is allowed to bring onboard. I like to travel light but I am just curious if there is a limit? It blows my mind to think they leave it up to the passenger's discretion. Also, can someone give me an idea on how to bring on a small supply of soda and water if they are purchased just prior to boarding and after checking bags. Do you just bring along an empty duffle bag? Do without the bag and carry on in arms or shopping bags? Bind them together with duct tape and affix luggage tag? How do most people handle this? Thanks for any tips! Never had a limit (other than airline fees) for luggage onboard. My solution for water and beverages is to either secure a case with packing tape and Princess luggage tag or recently I purchased a collapsible duffel bag that holds the water/beverages quite nicely. Enjoy the cruise.
Hazelnut1106 Posted August 2, 2014 #29 Share Posted August 2, 2014 We were on a 14 day cruise to Hawaii when we met a couple of ladies who had brought onboard a combined total of 15 pieces of luggage! not sure where they stored all their luggage and definitely could not comprehend how anyone could possibly think that they would need that many clothes!
