ebor Posted July 30, 2014 #1 Share Posted July 30, 2014 Can anyone tell me if the train is in service this year thanks Ebor
dani negreanu Posted July 30, 2014 #2 Share Posted July 30, 2014 Didn't see any sign of train [apart from the "fun" train:)]. BUT, there were many sellers of buses to Olympia for 10 Euro.
U4icmusic Posted March 4, 2015 #3 Share Posted March 4, 2015 Can anybody confirm if the train from Katakolon to Olympia is currently running when cruise ships are in port? Their website states they are open, but it man not have been updated recently.
Rod64 Posted May 12, 2015 #4 Share Posted May 12, 2015 I know for sure that last month was on strike, at least the day we were there. A family we met on the cruise ship wanted to take the train to Olympia (my family and I had booked a private shore excursion with visitkatakolon) and they had no luck, so they rented a car instead. that worked out just fine, as they were 4 in total. Avis Car rental is opposite the port. otherwise you could take the bus, which is opposite the port too.

conbon78 Posted July 3, 2015 #7 Share Posted July 3, 2015 It's round trip for the 10e bus. Tons of companies.
denatravels Posted July 5, 2015 #8 Share Posted July 5, 2015 It's round trip for the 10e bus. Tons of companies. Thanks!! One more question: I booked a cruise transfer and it was $25-- it might be worth it to be the first off the ship. However, I don't know that I am thrilled with being locked into a return time- if I book on my own, is this the same? Or do they have shuttles that run say every half hour and you just take the one that you want?
Tiggertastic Posted July 12, 2015 #9 Share Posted July 12, 2015 Walk off the ship to the road and the bus stops right there. The train is at the other end of town.
