Pomai Posted August 2, 2014 #1 Share Posted August 2, 2014 Hi, we are on the Celebrity Solstice December 21st voyage. In Sydney the ship will overnight and depart the following day, December 22. LIFE BOAT DRILL: Will it be on the 21st (1st day) or the 22nd (2nd day). What time is it usually done? TENDERS: The ship will move to the Athol Buoy on the 2nd day, December 22nd. Exactly where does the tenders go to. Does it tender back to the Overseas Passenger Terminal or to the smaller docks in between the passenger terminal and Opera House (don't know the name of this location). Don't really want to call the cruise line as the reservation agents probably won't know the answer. Has anyone done this cruise where it overnights in Sydney? Appreciate any help! MrsWaldo Posted August 2, 2014 #2 Share Posted August 2, 2014 (edited) Depending on the arrangement and other ship in port they usually either go to First Fleet/Harbour Masters (near OPT) or Man of war steps which are on the Botanic Gardens side of the Opera House. kuldalai Posted August 3, 2014 #3 Share Posted August 3, 2014 Following the COSTA CONCORDIA debacle all cruise lines now do the life boat drill prior to sailing on the day of departure . For intermediate ports where new passengers embark, same rule applies but ONLY passengers who have joined a new are required to attend the drill . The_Big_M Posted August 3, 2014 #4 Share Posted August 3, 2014 As above, the drill would be expected to be on the 22nd.
