Guarantee for more than 2 people?

Is it possible to book a guarantee for more than 2 people? I rang celebrity Australia and they said yes, celebrity US said no.

 

This is for a Asia cruise booked via US agent.

Yes.

 

I just did a mock booking and outside came up as a guarantee with 4 people booked. Remember though that not all rooms can accommodate more than 2, so if the only rooms left gty are limited to 2, it might mean you need to book a higher category.

 

This was on celebrity us website.

Thanks. We have a Concierge cabin booked but the Suite Guarantee has come very close in price to what we paid ( final payment already done).

 

There are plenty of suites left that fit 3 people but for some reason if I do a mock booking the guarantee comes up for 2 people but not 3 (haven't tried 4).

It's very rare. The reason is that not all cabins accommodate >2, and when you get a guarantee you don't necessarily get allocated straight away but can be part of a pool. It's more hassle to administer if they need separate pools for 2, 3 and 4 so for simplicity they usually only allow 2 so they can always slot the booking into an available cabin.

I've done a guarantee with three people. It might depend on the type of guarantee (mine was a suite guarantee - back when they were more affordable:)), and/or perhaps the number of rooms left that could hold more than 2.
