I keep seeing Hyatt place recommended for FLL. Any other good ones near port and/or airport around the same price? Arriving early the day before and want to find a good seafood restaurant and also hit a store to get water & pop to bring on board. Thanks!! Seafood restaurant is more important than the store..can always find a CVS somewhere. LOL :D

Comfort Suites, Embassy Suites, Holiday Inn Express, Renaissance, Hilton Marina, Hyatt Pier 66, all of them are real close to Hyatt Place within 1 mile. It is a nice area along 17th street, and very close to the entrance of the port. 10-12 dollar cab ride. We like the Hilton Marina, it is on the intercoastal waterway, very clean, and has a water taxi stop right there. We have a great rate this September for the Comfort Suites on Federal Hwy, so we will be trying it out for the first time. Have stayed at the Embassy Suites and found it a little dated, bath rooms especialy, but a lot of cruisers like the location. 15th street Fisheries is close by for seafood, and so is Kellys Landing. Lastmintravel is great site for hotel deals. If you have an I-Pad the hotel names show up, so there is no guessing.

Karen & Roy,

We stayed at the Lago Mar last November and it was excellent. It's right on the beach, and not far from the cruise port. Also, the shipping channel is only about a five-minute walk down the beach from the hotel, so you can get within about 50 yards of the cruise ships as they are sailing out. We got there on a Saturday for our Sunday cruise, and we watched the Oasis and a few other ships sail away on Saturday afternoon. Very nice.

We didn't try any seafood restaurants while we were there, so not sure about what is available.
