Meteor Shoers, Super Moon and Sailing

Recommended Posts

What can we expect to see out on the ocean this week with all the action in he sky?

Oh and that is 'meteor showers'

What are Meteor Showers?

  • As comets orbit the Sun, they shed an icy, dusty debris stream along the comet's orbit. If Earth travels through this stream, we will see a meteor shower.

Just find a nice dark spot on the ship away from the deck lights to see them. Helipad would be good if the ship has one. Good luck.

Sure, usually very dark skies.

Big thing is to avoid ship light. The bridge keeps the front and heliport very dark.

You also need to avoid the exhaust at the aft.

And of course your cabin neighbor that leaves their balcony light on.

We saw around 11 good meteor streaks last week. As well as two glimpses of the ISS satellite.
