OfTheSeasCruiser Posted August 11, 2014 #1 Share Posted August 11, 2014 (edited) Quantum originally wasn't an option for our vacation, but after watching some videos, it is starting to appeal to me. What kind of changes are usually made to ships going to Asia? Do you think these changes will be done before she comes to the US? Are any of you who are booked on her inaugural season in the US worried about any changes? I read somewhere that there are no shows? That doesn't really make sense to me, but is that true? I was on the Mariner last year on her first leg to China. The biggest change was the Casino. They took out a lot of slot machines and put in many more tables, including lots of Baccarat. They were also converting the stores to more high end stores, especially jewelry and watches. I understand that Bar Revenue is much lower in Asia than in US, so I am guessing that they may change something that was going to be a bar into more shopping

About them replacing stores, was there still a RCI logo store when you were on Mariner?
smoosh21 Posted August 12, 2014 #4 Share Posted August 12, 2014 Thanks so much for the reply. About them replacing stores, was there still a RCI logo store when you were on Mariner? Well, it turned into a Royal Logo Kiosk during the sailing. It was near the aquarium bar and it was two carts with a small selection of Royal goods. I was told that they still had some more in the back that they could get if i wanted, but not a full selection. I am not sure what the store turned into because they were still building it when the first leg ended.
Lloyd555 Posted August 12, 2014 #5 Share Posted August 12, 2014 I'm curious about the artwork or sculptures onboard. Will that be different? No reason why it should, but there could be some tweaks. Maybe we'll see something soon to give us an idea what to expect.
timtam2 Posted August 14, 2014 #6 Share Posted August 14, 2014 No logo store on Mariner. Still the pokey little kiosk which always had more customers than the big $$$ watch shops. I hope Quantum has a logo shop and a resort wear shop.
AttilaTheFun Posted August 20, 2014 #7 Share Posted August 20, 2014 (edited) I read somewhere that there are no shows? That doesn't really make sense to me, but is that true? A quick Googling of the phrase "Quantum of the Seas shows" quickly and easily refutes that misinformation. Not sure who told you that at all: http://www.usatoday.com/story/cruiselog/2014/06/12/quantum-of-the-seas-entertainment-shows/10365449/ Edited August 20, 2014 by AttilaTheFun

Not sure who told you that at all:http://www.usatoday.com/story/cruiselog/2014/06/12/quantum-of-the-seas-entertainment-shows/10365449/ Actually that original post was a little mistaken. All that the post that I read about shows said was "From what I understand there are no shows on Quantum", but after looking back through the thread I saw someone ask about TV shows about the Quantum of the Seas construction. However, once I realized this it was past the 20 minutes to edit the post. Jeez, sorry for not googling it. Maybe what you read was, for those on the 3 Night & the 2 Night sailing, we are not able to make reservations online for any shows. Don't know what Royal has in mind for these sailings regarding entertainment. We will have to wait and see. Will see what RCI comes up with. :) And I certainly hope there will be shows! :p
