HowardK Posted August 19, 2014 #26 Share Posted August 19, 2014 I was on the 9/14 last year (had booked it I think around 21 months in advance in 1/12 right after my 2011 December Epic trip) Because the ship was new at the time I paid $999 for a Studio. A week before the Balcony dropped to $1,099 so I upgraded. By some strange luck this winter (2/13 when there was around 15 inches of snow here) I went on and found several fall studios for $525-$545 (I picked 10/18 over September and over the getaway) I wonder if it was a glitch because I mentioned it on the forums and the deals were gone within an hour! I might try an upgrade again but it seems with kids sail free that demand is higher this year in October as of so far.

bobg529 Posted August 19, 2014 #28 Share Posted August 19, 2014 (edited) Good to know! I am a planner so I always book early and never look at the prices after final payment! I think 2 years ago,we paid only $350 per person (before taxes) for an inside. Last years just slightly more. Yes, $579 is the price without taxes..so probably $725 pp with taxes. My niece lives in Syracuse and we always want to plan some time with her before our cruises. How do you get to the East Coast ports from there? We have investigated to NYC using Trailways, but how about when you sail from Bayonne? Thanks for the info! Lauri You can take Amtrak. Trains run about 4 times a day, with prices ranging anywhere from $60 to $145 if you want to splurge on a roomette for a 6 hour ride. Though that roomette does come with a meal in the dining car! Once you get to Penn Station you could theoretically grab a PATH train into Jersey and then grab a taxi the rest of the way, but that trip to Bayonne is really kind of a pain. No sweat into NYC though! :) Edited August 19, 2014 by bobg529 Extra info
monkeybone Posted August 19, 2014 #29 Share Posted August 19, 2014 For my upcoming Breakaway cruise, I paid $1750 pp including taxes and port charges for a Haven Spa Suite. When I went fishing to check out cabin prices on different weeks, I did not find any week lower than this. I'm happy because I saved a ton of money. The Queen is happy because she's in the Haven AND she has access to the spa. If the Queen is happy, then there's a chance some happiness might come my way too! ;) wasiii Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Forums mobile app Thats a great price for the Spa Haven........Happy wife happy life!! lah66 Posted August 19, 2014 Author #32 Share Posted August 19, 2014 howardK, great price on a studio! I think you were in the right place at the right time! I always hope that happens to Me! There have been a lot of those pricing errors on RCI lately. One was Christmas week on Freedom for only $300ish! Bobg529: that does sound like a pain in the butt to get to Bayonne from Syracuse, especially from this MI girl who does not routinely take any type of public transportation! Maybe we will visit her just on our NYC sailings! I will file the info for future use. Thanks! Wasiii, you are still newlyweds? Your signature says Two year anniversary of your marriage or of being on the Breakaway in Bermuda? Congratulations! Lauri
