gambee Posted September 4, 2014 Author #851 Share Posted September 4, 2014 We had the Jacuzzi for ourselves for quite some time, but it was getting close to show time so we decided to go and get ready. I got some nice pictures on the way to the room.
gambee Posted September 4, 2014 Author #852 Share Posted September 4, 2014 The show that night was called Pirates. I was in fact initially excited about this show, mainly because I am a fan of pirates in general. We found the show to be bland, slow and boring. Liked I said. It was like a mild variation, of witches and Alice. This is not only coming from me, my mom made the “variation” comment, and since I mainly review shows with her in mind, then I have to take her word for it. We did not last very long in the theater, maybe 10 minutes or so. I was going to leave alone, by they all followed me, I was not expecting that. gambee Posted September 4, 2014 Author #853 Share Posted September 4, 2014 Most of us were full by then, remember we had eaten like 2 lunches that day. So we decided to make a quick stop in the buffet and get a light dinner. I had no intentions of waiting 2 hours for a dinner when I was not even that hungry in the first place. My aunt’s food. gambee Posted September 4, 2014 Author #854 Share Posted September 4, 2014 I decided to check out the kids section, I actually ended up getting some of the fish sticks from there.
gambee Posted September 4, 2014 Author #855 Share Posted September 4, 2014 And here is mine, the meat in the far end is pork. Everything was pretty tasty. After dinner we went for a little walk around the ship. I manage to get a few drinks lists that I was missing, among other things.
gambee Posted September 4, 2014 Author #856 Share Posted September 4, 2014 I love crepes, but I have never been a fan of nutella. I might have tried them if they something other than nutella.
gambee Posted September 4, 2014 Author #857 Share Posted September 4, 2014 As you can see seating is rather limited in that area. But then again with the kind of movies that they are showing on Divinia, I don’t think this will be a problem :D I took some pictures of the indoor pool with the roof closed. gambee Posted September 4, 2014 Author #859 Share Posted September 4, 2014 That night was flower night, so everyone was supposed to wear flower decorations. My mom had brought some Hawaii style flowers, and they all had them for the party later that night. The party wasn’t until later on, so we went out for a little walk before it started. This is where the party would be held later on.

gambee Posted September 4, 2014 Author #863 Share Posted September 4, 2014 My uncle asked us to come with him and collect his winnings from the casino, he had yet to check out. So we took a short stroll there, and I took a few pictures on the way.
gambee Posted September 4, 2014 Author #864 Share Posted September 4, 2014 The casino was really empty that night. Now that I think about it was much less occupied than other casinos that I have seen on ships. And here is a happy uncle! Who would not be?!??!?!? gambee Posted September 4, 2014 Author #865 Share Posted September 4, 2014 He gambled a little more, but did not win anything. I decide to head up to the room and attempt at rescuing my data one more time. I went into the arcade next to the casino to get a couple of pictures. Once I got to the room, I took a hot shower and got ready to attempt the rescue of my data. Little did I know that all the persistence and hard work finally payed off!!!!!!! The computer did come to life, but it was working insanely slow and it would lock up every so often. My first priority was extracting the day 1 pictures that I had lost, that in itself took about 20 minutes! I have never seen that computer so slow. My family came and knocked on my room, they were all dressed up with flowers on the head and whatnot. I told my mom that I had other priorities. I needed to make copies of the current data and duplicate everything into the external drive. I knew that was going to take at leas 1 hour. So stayed back to keep a close eye on my project. I was able to do everything I needed to do, but as I predicted it took about 2 hours. The party was either well underway or over by then. Either way I was exhausted! So I decided to call it a night! I was very excited about my success! Finally it payed off. The funny thing is that I restarted the computer, and it was dead again. That had been a stroke of luck, one that I was very thankful for! So that was about it for that day, I pretty much crashed in that bed as soon as I laid my head on that pillow. The sun will do that to you. Day 5, End. sonicbuffalo Posted September 4, 2014 #867 Share Posted September 4, 2014 The entry fee is good for the two forts for that full day. Not bad, I think this is the cheapest whore excursion I have ever done. I wanna go on your next excursion since they're so cheap and fun! The fort is really nice, I really love forts and castles. They hold so much history inside them! We all said a few prayers. That one takes the cake, Gambee....why you're so much fun....I wanna go on the next excursion! camofwilliamsburg Posted September 4, 2014 #868 Share Posted September 4, 2014 HI there. Enjoying seeing all your pictures. Just a few comments if you do not mind. San Juan: There are beautiful beaches a cab ride away, maybe 10-15 minutes. Shows on board: They are full theatrical shows that interweave dance, song, incredible feats of magic, acrobatics, body contortionism, with the most talented singers and dancers we have ever seen on any cruise ship. The costumes and lighting on each show is wonderful. You will not have a 30 minute show with a acrobat, but the acrobat will come out in many of the shows and do something for 3 minutes or so. BTW, most of the other cruise lines that we have sailed on in the last 5 years have gone to shorter 30-40 minute shows. I am sorry you walked out on most of the shows. We found them to be amazing and very different from any other show on any other cruise ship. On MSC the singers all can sing and the dancers all can dance on a much higher level than any other cruise line. Most others remind me of a high school musical ...but not on MSC! We watch Americas Got talent and for years Howie Mandel would say that he never saw an act like that. I would turn to my DH and we would smile, saying "We have, on MSC." Aussiegrlfl Posted September 5, 2014 #869 Share Posted September 5, 2014 I am enjoying your review. I can honestly say, this is the most beautiful ship I have seen, but one I would never sail. It seems to be missing the fun factor, the statues are not really family friendly, and the food and service seem mediocre. Two suggestions got your review, some of your text does not correlate to the photo, and please don't overuse the illustration mode. I know you love it, and knew or two pictures are nice, but those photos don't really add anything yo the review. I appreciate your thoughtful and indepth reviews...especially the Breakaway one, which was invaluable to me before my breakaway cruise last year. Sorry but seriously it's his review......he can do it his way........you have obviously enjoyed them in the past.........we all express ourselves differently.... Onkel_Ken Posted September 5, 2014 #871 Share Posted September 5, 2014 Gambee, I have truly enjoyed this on-going review as well as the many wonderful reviews on your comprehensive website! After spending many many hours on your website, I decided to join CruiseCritic today and enjoy your on-going reviews and those of others that also tempt those of us that have not yet have had the pleasure of taking a cruise yet. It is because of people like you and a few others that help people who would never dream of taking a cruise start to learn what the cruise experience could be like. My wife has always been against cruising because she didn't know what cruising was really about and the joy of discovery and adventure that a cruise can provide. Thanks again for sharing your cruise experiences! I also appreciate that you add to the reviews by allowing us to share your family fun times also. Your mother, aunt, and uncle sound like wonderful companions on a cruise. The videos add a very interactive touch that actually makes one feel like they are beside you as you walk through the ship and furnishings. Once again thank you for your efforts and the professional manner in which your reviews are put together. Just be sure to enjoy the cruises yourself and don't minimize your personal time off on the cruise for us. Your reviews are appreciated by many people and a lot of them haven't thanked you yet. I hope to take my first cruise some day soon. Onkel_Ken
