Transportation to the Port of Miami

We are 4 adults and are spending a pre cruise night at the Best Western on the Bay Inn & Marina in Miami. We are considering a private car hire (which will fit all of us and our luggage...oh....did I mention that we are 4 gals...with lots of luggage:D). The price would be $85; which is fine for all of us but ONE..the accountant in the group. She thinks a cab makes better fiscal sense.

My main concern is that we might two cabs which will probably end up costing the same. Does anyone have any experience with the cabs to the Port?

.....on the Florida Departures board if you search over there and also post your question there you might get some quicker answers.

Cabs are cheap and easy.

AFTER you arrive at hotel, ask at the desk. They might even have a group transfer.

One cab might work, but be tight. Cab from airport to port is $25, not sure where your hotel is.

Contact the hotel you are staying at and inquire about ideas on how to get from

the hotel to the port "inexpensively ala chealy - best bang for buck" !

Perhaps the hotel may have a shuttle that goes to the airport but for a token

healthy tip * fee the shuttle could be diverted to the port instead of the air-port.

***

Checked the Hotel website they do offer FREE shuttle service to the airport

ask if the shuttle could take a side trip to the port ?

For reference the NCL chartered motor coach transfer fee is $16.00 pp from the airport

to the port on the day of the cruise sailing.

Another game plan is if renting a vehicle of size to haul your crowd around.

Pile everyone into the large (van) vehicle and the driver takes you his and bags

to the port then returns the rental vehicle and takes the rental free shuttle to the airport

to meet the NCL rep for the transfer to the port; only one $16 transfer fee !

Scratch that you are only doing one night in Miami unless a one day rental

fits the budget !

Looks the like the best bet is asking the Hotel if they can do a port shuttle !

The distance is slightly more than half the distance to the airport and would

not be terribly out of the way !

ASK !
