beckinoz Posted September 21, 2014 #1 Share Posted September 21, 2014 Sorry for this question but I was reading the FAQ's on RCCL website and I came across this: Q: Will the Casino still have non-smoking nights? A: The Casino will no longer offer designated non-smoking nights. However, the Casino will offer designated non-smoking areas during operating hours. So, is this saying you can smoke in the casino? My last trip I spent a fair bit of time in there  , ok, a lot of time and never saw anybody smoking. Maybe this is because in Australia there is no smoking allowed indoors in public places? What I am getting at is my brother will be joining us on our cruise and he smokes. I told him that Radiance was 100% smoke free indoors and out. Whilst I know he won't smoke inside, is he allowed to in certain places outside? Like I said, I don't smoke so the topic has never interested me. I would like to know for his sake though. Clarea Posted September 21, 2014 #2 Share Posted September 21, 2014 On cruises out of the US, you can smoke in the casino. However, on cruises out of Australia, I believe there is no indoor smoking at all.

I read you can't smoke on your balcony.

I read you can't smoke on your balcony. Yes, smoking is usually allowed on one side of the outside decks. You are also correct that smoking is no longer allowed on stateroom balconies. Did a cruise out of Sydney earlier this year and there was no smoking allowed in the casino. this was on Celebrity but I imagine Royal would be the same. The casino on Celebrity is always non-smoking. And there is no interior smoking allowed on Australia cruises on Royal Caribbean, including the casino. rwil111 Posted September 21, 2014 #9 Share Posted September 21, 2014 Assume that when ships are far enough off Australian coast to allow casino to open they are no longer under Australian law so why no smoking in the casino if it is apparently RC policy everywhere else. Coralc Posted September 21, 2014 #10 Share Posted September 21, 2014 (edited) I don't know. They switched back to casino smoking when the ship reached Hawaii and passengers embarked for that cruise to Vancouver. Generally, I think their policies (whatever they might be) remain in effect for the entire cruise. Edited September 21, 2014 by Coralc
