What was your most UNROMANTIC moment on board?

While I have had my share of romantic moments with my DH on our cruises, no one ever talks much about the opposite. You know, those really awful mood-killing moments where all the mood lighting and ocean breezes in the world will not be enough, like:

...the moment that my DH and I (without clothing or PJs) were going to share a glass of chilled champagne in bed and I ended up dumping both glasses of COLD champagne in his lap.

...the morning we woke up feeling romantic and realized we had not taken the chocolates out of the bed and they melted. All over both of us and the sheets. We looked like we had smeared ourselves with baby poo.

...the night I went to brush my teeth before bed and used the Preparation H instead of toothpaste.

Any others?

We went back to the cabin ready for romance only to find the toilet had backed up. Had to call guest services who sent a maintenance man, he said the whole line was clogged and went to work with a plumber's snake for twenty minutes! Definitely destroyed the mood!

OK this is kind of gross, so if you have a sensitive tummy skip over it.......ANyway on a cruise a long time ago I waaayyy overindulged in Cozumel and was feeling awful. My boyfriend was sitting in bed with me with his arm around my shoulders putting a cold cloth on my head and guess what went into his lap.......it was not champagne! [img]http://messages.cruisecritic.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_eek.gif[/img] [img]http://messages.cruisecritic.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_eek.gif[/img]. I felt sooo bad about it, but amazingly enough he was very, very nice about it, although we did break up shortly after that cruise!

my girlfriend and i had a romantic dinner drinks and dancing perfect. back to the room to get even more romantic. while the romance was at its peak...in walked my wife. totally killed the mood THIS IS JUST A JOKE

Well, well. I imagine if your gums had been swollen that took care of it. And if it had been a hot sticky day the Champagne could be refreshing. I am famous for trying to turn negatives into positives. I gotta say though waking up with chocolate all over my DH and my self would NOT spoil romance...in fact.... Probably when I was on my second day of the cruise, and I got an allergic reaction to something and I got hives and duck lips!

Ok..my turn. Being that today WOULD have been my 20th anniversary........

2 years ago, on my 18th Anniversary, I took my then hubby on a cruise which happened to be a conference. I decorated the cabin and even put a sign on the door with our caricature for others to sign their well wishes. He never really acknowledged this special day at all. How unromantic can one be! Needless to say, bye bye...he was the weakest link! [img]http://messages.cruisecritic.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif[/img]

Carnival Pride two years ago. We were being quite romantic. Do you know that some times they don`t get the beds tied together very well? Anyway my fanny hit the floor in between them.With all the laughing going on that was the end of things for awhile.

Ok if you must know. I would say it was in Aruba. After an excursion we were heading back to the ship on a two level boat. His arm was wrapped around me, the wind was blowing, the water was blue, we were snuggleing and having a cocktail. Pleasantly relaxed after snorkeling the beautiful blue....when suddenly....someone upstairs threw up on my dh arm! kind of ruined things....

Reminds me of the cruise to Alaska when my then hubby and I decided to separate in the days right before the cruise. We decided to definitely end it all during the pre-cruise time in Victoria. Talk about Alaska being COLD!!!!! Luckily, I have found my Prince Charming. I got him young. We were high school sweethearts. Next month we celebrate our 29 year Anniversary. AND we are very compatible. We are BOTH cruise a holics.
