A travel site like expedia or by phone? Any chances of getting a lower price over the phone than published online?

Travel agents are supposed to have the same prices as Royal. However, sometimes agents have group space that was reserved when prices were lower. In other words, it does not matter what method you use to book, however it could matter what agency you use.

The time travel agents can beat royal prices is when they have bought a large group of cabins and received discounts and benefits accordingly then pass them on to us passengers

I agree. Often the discounts are hidden as the TA may bundle the trip with air & Xfers.

I found booking while onboard was the best way for me. My other 5 times I always used a TA.

 

I did book my flights on my own for the first time when I got home. Saved their booking flights fee for something I did in my own home on my own computer
