Cunard Club Question.

As I have said in previous thread it is some time since I was on a Cunard boat. I was, well I suppose I still am, a diamond member of the Cunard Club. I wouldn't normally bother about stuff like that, after all saving a few pence having one's kerchiefs laundered compared to the cost of attaining diamond status is hardly worth exercising oneself about. However, regrettably I find I am no longer able to stand for long periods and I will unavoidably be arriving at peak boarding time. So being able to join a shorter queue will be a blessing. But, I cannot find my badge or card anywhere, is it necessary to have these to join the priority line? Also the person who now has the unenviable task of looking after me is a first timer, will we be able to check in together?

I'm assuming you are embarking at Southampton?

Priority check-in won't be a problem just head for the priority check-in line.

You may well have a problem embarking however, as once through check-in you will merge with everyone else and have to wait to go through security which is handled by G4S.

It may be worth asking for wheelchair assistance on arrival.

Your friend will also get priority check-in.

Hi Merry Maid. Your Diamond Status with Priority Boarding should be reflected on your e-ticket. If not, may I suggest you contact Cunard in advance of your voyage.

Regarding a previous suggestion about requesting wheel chair assist upon boarding, this might be of interest:

"Cunard Line reserves the right to refuse passage to any Passenger who has failed to notify Cunard Line of their requirement for special treatment or assistance (including the requirement to use a wheelchair or mobility scooter ). For further information about travelling with disabilities, please contact our specialist Care Access Team at (800) 728-6273 (Monday-Friday 8am-5pm PT) or contact us by email at accessoffice@cunard.com" -quoted from

http://www.cunard.com/frequent-questions/

No doubt those with experience of such matters will be more helpful.

Bon Voyage,

Salacia
