Port to WDW?

Have done the Port to MCO several times, but this time we are cruising on the Dream first and then going to WDW (CBR) after the cruise. A couple of questions;

1st: Assume that we have to take our luggage thru customs?

2nd: What time do WDW Folks get off the ship, any particular times?

3rd: I assume that the bus for CBR will be assigned with several other resorts.

Thanks for the help, we will be cruising/WDW the first week of Jan 15.

We did a 5 night Dream from Port Canaveral then 4 or 5 nights at WDW a couple years ago.

1. We didn't have to deal with our luggage through Customs. We left our luggage outside the stateroom the night prior to arrival.

2. We got off the ship with the rest of the passengers, but rather than hopping on the Magical Express to MCO, we rode the bus to WDW resorts.

3. The bus stops at multiple resorts. Your assumption is correct.

If I had to do it over, we would do WDW first and then cruise. We were all so relaxed stepping off the ship, only to find ourselves losing that feeling once in the crowded park. I must also mention that we did all of this over spring break.

Thanks for the quick reply and info. Good news about no luggage thru customs! We usually do the World first then Cruise, but with our 40th anniversary being on the 5th, we didn't want to be in the parks over Christmas/New Years, so cruise first then the world (get to be in PALO for our anniversary).

If you are taking DCL transfers back to the resort after the cruise, you can leave your bags out the night before and they will bring them to the terminal. You have to claim the bags, go thru customs, and take the bags to the bus. There is no luggage service to the resorts from the port.

1. Yes. Only time that you won't transport your bags through customs is if you are participating in the onboard airline checkin (going directly to MCO from port).

2. Whatever time works for you (doors open around 7:30 am, with last guests departing by 9:00 am).

3. No way of telling. Busses are assigned based on numbers of people going to each resort. If a lot of people are going to the same resort, and arrive at the bus assignment location within a close time frame, the bus could just to the one resort.

Forgot to add that there are porters waiting with carts as you take the elevator down to the luggage area. We tip $5 and have the porter go with us thru customs and to the bus. We are old folks and like the convenience.

I stand corrected. Must be confused with airline transfers. Sorry for any misinformation posted earlier.

Typical is that each bus hits 3 resorts. It is not planned and scheduled like it is from WDW to cruise terminal.

You get off ship, pick up luggage in terminal (if out the night before) and go thru Customs. Then go to podium outside terminal (well marked). Tell CM which resort you are going to and she tells you which bus to get on. Take luggage to bus driver, board bus. Bus will depart when nearly full. You have no way to know whether you are the first or last drop off until the bus actually begins dropping people at the resorts.
