solasol Posted October 5, 2014 #1 Share Posted October 5, 2014 I plan on a Transatlantic cruise in April 2015. When is the best time to purchase? Are 90 days before departure cutting it too close? I want a good deal. Thanks:)
SPacificbound Posted October 6, 2014 #2 Share Posted October 6, 2014 (edited) Transatlantic are usually good deals to start with. I wouldn't wait, but that's just me. Edited October 6, 2014 by SPacificbound
Nebr.cruiser Posted October 6, 2014 #3 Share Posted October 6, 2014 When you find a price you like, book it. That said, we've done 3 TA's and have booked within 90 days on all three--got some great deals. But, we weren't going to be upset if we didn't find a cruise. If you have to have a certain time, ship, itinerary, cabin, etc. book sooner. If you are flexible and can accept the possibility of not finding a deal, or not taking the cruise, wait. Often (but not always) prices go down after final payment dates. We almost always book 2-3 months out; finding the right airfare can be problematic, but it has always worked for us with FF miles. Rare Keith1010 Posted October 6, 2014 #4 Share Posted October 6, 2014 Crossings have become very popular. I would not wait as typical the lowest priced rooms and those with the best locations within each category and the highest price suites go first. Dancer Bob Posted October 6, 2014 #5 Share Posted October 6, 2014 Remember that a Transatlantic is cruise + airfare. Last minute cheap usually means high airfare.
marco Posted October 6, 2014 #6 Share Posted October 6, 2014 And inquire about airfare through the cruise line. We have done TA's on Princess and Celebrity and Cunard and I could not even come close to the airfare on my own compared to what they offered .
