Raxter54 Posted October 6, 2014 #1 Share Posted October 6, 2014 DW and I want to do an easy tour on the first stop of our cruise, and thought this sounded like a good excursion. Has anybody done this tour and can give any insight or opinions on it?
ladysail2 Posted October 6, 2014 #2 Share Posted October 6, 2014 I haven't done high tea at that particular place, but it sounds wonderful. Did High Tea at Reid's Palace in Madeira which was fabulous. Did you check it out on Trip Advisor? I'm sure someone would post a review. I'm going to Falmouth on one of my cruises....I'd certainly check it out. :D
Rare LMaxwell Posted October 6, 2014 #3 Share Posted October 6, 2014 We did the alternate tour in the same place; the Estate Tour which covered more of the grounds and went through the area where they had tea (same building was part of the tour). It's a very nice estate, the history is interesting. We didn't have tea but did see more of the working areas of the estate. If you like a bit of culture, beautiful scenery, and don't want too much physical exertion you should enjoy the High Tea.
Luvfuninthesun Posted October 7, 2014 #4 Share Posted October 7, 2014 We did that excursion, without the tea, and loved it! The staff was very friendly, and had great stories to share. Would definitely recommend it!
songster2 Posted October 7, 2014 #5 Share Posted October 7, 2014 (edited) Back in January my niece, son and I did the Tea. We enjoyed the different teas and the food that was served. We even made the Lemon Grass tea at home. We also walked the grounds and enjoyed some beautiful views of surrounding areas. I have mobility issues, and I was able to walk around the area if I rested from time to time. We also saw some beautiful and interesting birds. The history of the place was interesting. cindyscruise Posted October 7, 2014 #6 Share Posted October 7, 2014 My Mother and I did this tour. It is easy walking. you get to tour the house and grounds first then have tea. It is a beautiful room and the tea and food were very good. all the food is grown and made on the island.
