mattR Posted October 7, 2014 #1 Share Posted October 7, 2014 If were not set on any one specific show is it a good idea to use TKTS once we get to NYC? Is there another site that is good to use that has deep discounts that we could get a week or so before? We are looking to go to a show on Nov 30th which is a Sunday, however it looks like most shows don't play or only have matinees on Sundays. Dose the TKTS in times square offer matinee tickets the day before for matinees or dose only the one farther south do that?

You can get some idea of what is available by watching this site. http://www.entertainment-link.com/tkts.asp?gclid=CjwKEAjw-8ihBRD2t9qT3NaW7igSJAD3_sNVpbXbjr1jzIWfOYj73PNjSnsN80kP1xCCiGnXjuGV7xoCtSfw_wcB Edited October 7, 2014 by smeyer418
Andee Posted October 7, 2014 #3 Share Posted October 7, 2014 I do not believe that the Duffy Square (aka Times Square) TKTS location offers tickets the day before, only same day. Three sites that offer discounts (you may have to sign up, which is free) are theatermania, playbill, and broadwaybox.
acruisingcouple Posted October 7, 2014 #4 Share Posted October 7, 2014 We won't be arriving into Manhattan until about 2:00 PM on the Saturday (in March). Will that be too late to be able to get discount tickets using TKTS or do they usually sell out early in the day? Thanks!
Andee Posted October 7, 2014 #5 Share Posted October 7, 2014 For a Saturday evening performance, the Times Square TKTS doesn't start selling tickets until 3PM, although the line forms before that. If you are interested in a play (rather than a musical), there is a line (always short) just for plays on the west side of TKTS.
smeyer418 Posted October 7, 2014 #6 Share Posted October 7, 2014 and the answer from TKTS is ... If you are interested in purchasing tickets through TKTS, Matinee tickets are only available the day before at the South Street Sea Port location. If you are interested in regular advance sales, you can purchase matinee tickets anytime. FYI that is where I but these tickets or in Brooklyn...
