hedy7813 Posted October 7, 2014 #1 Share Posted October 7, 2014 Has anyone taken the Oceania sponsored excursion to Sting Ray City in Grand Cayman? What size boat to they use to transport you to the sandbar?
JPR Posted October 8, 2014 #2 Share Posted October 8, 2014 Medium size double decker boat. Smooth ride.
oceanbabe Posted October 11, 2014 #3 Share Posted October 11, 2014 I have not taken this excursion with Oceania, but did it with another cruise. It was really alot of fun. The water may at times be a bit rough. I am 5'3" and my husband had to hold me as the water would sometimes go over my head. This probably was due to the current. I would recommend it. GeorgesGal Posted October 14, 2014 #4 Share Posted October 14, 2014 I would look into an option which offers a catamaran sail which goes to the sandbar. Did this once about 5 years ago on a HAL cruise. We only had 14 pax on the boat! So very much nicer than with hoards of folks. Don't remember the name of the outfit since it was one of HAL's scheduled excursions, but I'm sure you could find a couple by googling Grand Cayman sailing tours.
