I have searched and not found this answer, hopefully someone could help me with this answer. We are sailing out of Galveston in November and I know we cannot buy cheers package til the second day. Everything I've read talks about how easy it is to buy when your boarding, but nothing about how to purchase if you have to wait til day two. Also, can only one of us buy the package for both of us in the cabin or do both have to be present to buy it? Thanks in advance.

1. Walk up to a table selling it or a bar. Purchase. Done.

2. Everyone over 21 in the same stateroom is required to purchase it. There are no exceptions, including medical restrictions. Some cruise lines do not have this policy, but Carnival is not one of those cruise lines.

thanks. I thought carnival would make it real easy to buy, just was checking on how easy. dh likes to sleep in, I wanted to get a jump on purchasing it and thought I might be able to buy for both of us knowing all in room had to buy. I appreciate the prompt responses.

We bought it the 2nd day on the Pride. There were signs near the main bars (Atrium, Lido, Casino) advertising it and saying it was the last day to purchase it. Your signs will probably be similar. You just tell a bartender you want to buy it (you probably both have to be present because they put a sticker on your card and probably activate something in the computer as well) and they will hook you up.

So it can be bought on day 2? We are on 6 day cruise and it's 42.50 per day. We would save $100 by not buying it till day 2...

Also you can get pop and non alcoholic drinks too right? I assume at no limit? The non alcoholic don't count towards the 15? My daughter will love that. Do you have to wait the 15 min after ordering a virgin drink to get a real drink?

The last time I was on the Magic I purchased it for my sister and I at the lobby bar on day 2. I just brought her S&S card with me so they could put the sticker on it.

Soda's and non alcoholic drinks (frozen only) don't count toward your limit, but they still must be purchased 5 minutes apart and still aren't allowed to be shared. If you are frequently ordering an adult beverage then a glass of pop or a virgin drink 5 minutes later they may start watching more closely to see if you are sharing.

So if you buy on day 2, they don't just charge all 7 days anyway? We leave San Juan at 10pm and I plan on sipping wine from home on the balcony that night.

We were on a 7 day cruise, bought Cheers on day 2 and were charged $37.50 for 6 days plus the 15% gratuity. I have our itemized bill right here and the total for two of us was $517.50. That breaks down to $225 each (37.50 x 6)for Cheers plus 33.75 for the gratuity. Hope that helps everyone!

Have fun! We just got back Sunday and I'm still trying to catch up on laundry and unpacking. I wish I had a strawberry daiquiri machine at home to make the transition easier. LOL
