factotumdeb Posted October 9, 2014 #1 Share Posted October 9, 2014 I have searched and not found this answer, hopefully someone could help me with this answer. We are sailing out of Galveston in November and I know we cannot buy cheers package til the second day. Everything I've read talks about how easy it is to buy when your boarding, but nothing about how to purchase if you have to wait til day two. Also, can only one of us buy the package for both of us in the cabin or do both have to be present to buy it? Thanks in advance.
Disconnections Posted October 9, 2014 #2 Share Posted October 9, 2014 (edited) 1. Walk up to a table selling it or a bar. Purchase. Done. 2. Everyone over 21 in the same stateroom is required to purchase it. There are no exceptions, including medical restrictions. Some cruise lines do not have this policy, but Carnival is not one of those cruise lines. Edited October 9, 2014 by Disconnections
falkcor Posted October 9, 2014 #3 Share Posted October 9, 2014 the same way you do on the first day. Lobby bar, Lido pool bar and casino typically. its just like ordering a drink really. I'm not sure but I believe both parties would have to be present
factotumdeb Posted October 9, 2014 Author #4 Share Posted October 9, 2014 thanks. I thought carnival would make it real easy to buy, just was checking on how easy. dh likes to sleep in, I wanted to get a jump on purchasing it and thought I might be able to buy for both of us knowing all in room had to buy. I appreciate the prompt responses.
Freckle53 Posted October 9, 2014 #5 Share Posted October 9, 2014 We bought it the 2nd day on the Pride. There were signs near the main bars (Atrium, Lido, Casino) advertising it and saying it was the last day to purchase it. Your signs will probably be similar. You just tell a bartender you want to buy it (you probably both have to be present because they put a sticker on your card and probably activate something in the computer as well) and they will hook you up. lucyjlou Posted October 9, 2014 #6 Share Posted October 9, 2014 So it can be bought on day 2? We are on 6 day cruise and it's 42.50 per day. We would save $100 by not buying it till day 2... Also you can get pop and non alcoholic drinks too right? I assume at no limit? The non alcoholic don't count towards the 15? My daughter will love that. Do you have to wait the 15 min after ordering a virgin drink to get a real drink? Sent from my SCH-I545 using Forums mobile app

Comparison remember of course that you pay for whatever drinks you buy day one yes soda and most non alcoholic drinks including virgin frozen drinks. No limit. No they don't count against the 15 have to wait 5 minutes not 15 but yes I believe so

Sent from my SCH-I545 using Forums mobile app The last time I was on the Magic I purchased it for my sister and I at the lobby bar on day 2. I just brought her S&S card with me so they could put the sticker on it. Soda's and non alcoholic drinks (frozen only) don't count toward your limit, but they still must be purchased 5 minutes apart and still aren't allowed to be shared. If you are frequently ordering an adult beverage then a glass of pop or a virgin drink 5 minutes later they may start watching more closely to see if you are sharing. So if you buy on day 2, they don't just charge all 7 days anyway? We leave San Juan at 10pm and I plan on sipping wine from home on the balcony that night. I have our itemized bill right here and the total for two of us was $517.50. That breaks down to $225 each (37.50 x 6)for Cheers plus 33.75 for the gratuity. Hope that helps everyone! We just got back Sunday and I'm still trying to catch up on laundry and unpacking. I wish I had a strawberry daiquiri machine at home to make the transition easier.
