Mediterranean cruise on Island - Fall 2015

Have not sailed on Island Princess before so I am searching for advice re: the "new" Island for the Medirerranean cruise departing from Venice in September 2015. Looking at balcony and deluxe staterooms on Caribe deck.

 

Posts about the changes are making me wonder if this will be a great experience or not.

 

Given the 3-for-free promo and shareholder OBC, I am tempted to book the trip and cancel later if the feedback is not positive. Any feedback would be appreciated.

We just booked this ship for October, 2015 Venice to Rome. Although we are elite on Princess we have never sailed on this ship nor her sister, Coral Princess. The Island is supposed to be done with her drydock in May I think, so no reports for some time yet. I figure I won't miss what I never knew about the ship and just enjoy what she does offer as well as the ports (even the ones we have been to before).

 

I love the Grand class, as well as the newer Royal/Regal and the little ladies (Ocean/Pacific). I find they all have a lot to offer as I'm sure the Island will too.

We will be on Island P next July, and I am really confused. On the Princess website Deck plans, it shows before and after November 25th, 2015, yet I see on Cruise Critic that she is scheduled to be in dry dock March to May. does anyone know what is really happening?
