firsttimer2012 Posted October 14, 2014 #1 Share Posted October 14, 2014 Has anyone stayed in this wrap lately? I was wondering if most of the wrap is mostly covered? Pros and cons? Thank you
LindaSSF Posted October 14, 2014 #2 Share Posted October 14, 2014 We were on the other corner. It is covered - only aft that really is. We burn easily, so it allowed us to stay out & enjoy ourselves. The cabin is a little smaller than other Neptune suits, but the balcony makes up for it!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
firsttimer2012 Posted October 14, 2014 Author #3 Share Posted October 14, 2014 Thank you!! We are thinking about this cabin on our next Alaska cruise and figured that if it rained, then we could still enjoy the balcony..:)
EagleRocker Posted October 14, 2014 #4 Share Posted October 14, 2014 Thank you!! We are thinking about this cabin on our next Alaska cruise and figured that if it rained, then we could still enjoy the balcony..:) It is a perfect balcony for inclement weather. We had 5190 (the parallel cabin on the other aft corner) and the covered balcony provided complete protection o out Alaska trip (plus the balcony is enormous). PathfinderEss Posted October 14, 2014 #5 Share Posted October 14, 2014 It's perfect for Alaska, you'll love it.
InTheWASide Posted October 14, 2014 #6 Share Posted October 14, 2014 Yes it's mostly covered. Deck 5 is best if you want covered. Deck 4 is perfect if you want exposed to the sun and elements. Both have pros and cons. It depends on the traveler Sent from my iPhone 6 using Forums
satchiesmom Posted October 14, 2014 #7 Share Posted October 14, 2014 We had 5191 in May for our Alaska cruise and it was perfect, especially in inclement weather, as it is mostly covered.
DaveOKC Posted October 14, 2014 #8 Share Posted October 14, 2014 Has anyone had these cabins (5190 and 5191) on a partial (or full) Panama Canal cruise? How was it? DaveOKC
frankc98376 Posted October 14, 2014 #9 Share Posted October 14, 2014 Has anyone had these cabins (5190 and 5191) on a partial (or full) Panama Canal cruise? How was it? DaveOKC They are completely covered so no direct hot sun. The view is amazing- the outside area is about 450 square feet and wraps around the side. The two largest balconies on Oosterdam, Zuiderdam, and Westerdam. No crowded railings competing for space in the canal. You could easily have 30 people on the balcony
LindaSSF Posted October 14, 2014 #10 Share Posted October 14, 2014 We had it for a partial transit of the canal. You could see all around the rear of the ship as you went through - gorgeous views! We had 20+ from CC on the balcony with us. The next level down, the corner cabins could actually reach out & touch the sides of the canal. AZNative2000 Posted October 14, 2014 #11 Share Posted October 14, 2014 (edited) Has anyone had these cabins (5190 and 5191) on a partial (or full) Panama Canal cruise? How was it? DaveOKC We were in 5191 (on the Zuiderdam a sister of Westerdam) for a partial in 2010 and LOVED IT! As Frank said, the balcony is over 450 square feet: The view off the back in the locks looks like: Cheers!
