Gift of champagne question

If I order a bottle of champagne as a gift for a passenger, will it be in the room at check in time and on ice when he arrives. If so, what if he arrives close to sail-away. Will the ice be melted?

Your friend will have a card in his cabin. He will then have to call room service and they'll deliver it. I doubt he'll get it before sailaway...
