Transportation from port of Tampa to Airport

We have friends wishing to rent a car, then leave at the cruise terminal for pick up after their cruise, are there any Car rental agencies nearby

2-3 blocks away there are both a Hertz and Avis locations (one in the Marriott and the other in the Embassy Suites); there is an Enterprise location within a couple of miles that should be happy to drop them off/pick them up. If they get a deal on a car from the TPA airport a taxi to/from the port runs $25+tip.

Yup - the cab will drop you at the ticketing/check-in level and you'll need to walk down to the car rental desks.

Are there plenty of cabs waiting at the airport to bring you to the pier? Is that $25 plus tip as well?

Yes, there are always plenty of taxis waiting.

 

When you get your bags in the baggage claim area, go out the side doors to the Transportation-Circle... that is where the taxis are located. The doors are well marked.

 

The flat rate fee from TIA to the port of Tampa is $25 for up to 4 passengers.

Not familiar with that specific hotel - in general the Westshore area is okay, not too far from the TPA airport and there is a large mall (International Plaza) close by. Should be lots of dining options - have you checked the Tripadvisor reviews? :confused:

Thanks John, I didn't check tripadvisor. Will do. Also thanks for the info on the Avis rentals. We are 4 and in Tampa for the day and leaving from 2 different airports. Car rental seems like the way to go.

John'. CHecked out tripadvisor and holiday inn westshore got good reviews. Looking forward to tampa!
