We did the 7 day cruise and did our own thing 3 days before and 2 days after, super easy to plan and do.

Loved our POA cruise.

Rented cars on each island and just enjoyed ourselves so much

We did the 7 day POA cruise the first part of December several years ago. It is a great way to see the islands. No sea days like the two week trip from the west coast. I think the hotel is the Marriott in Waikiki. It is across the street from the beach and in the heart of all the action in Waikiki. I was there last week to see a musical performance and it looked like a nice hotel.

Did the POA in December and saw plenty of whales!

We sailed the PoA last month... what a great trip! I highly recommend flying over a few days early to spend some time on Oahu. Unfortunately for us, we lost a day due to a "maintenance issue" with our flight out of Phoenix. Our original flight got cancelled; but not before we endured a 3-hour gate delay, 4-hours of flying in circles to burn off excess fuel, and two landings at LAX.

Eventually, we did get to Honolulu... albeit a day later than anticipated.

We too saw plenty of whales... feeding at the buffet!
