mcmomny replied to JDBRANDT17042's topic in Norwegian Cruise Line
I have a quick question, is the pool only for Villa guests or is it open to all ? -

More Cancellations: Star, Dawn & Jewel

We had just booked Tuesday the Jade sailing in Panama that was cancelled, I'm wondering if I will receive the 10% FCC seeing as I had just booked? -
The Getaway ship is the sister ship to The Breakaway. Much larger than the Gem. The Gem will have the promenade that wraps completely around the ship. Also The Great Outdoors at the back of the ship with seating next to the buffet. The Great Outdoors is our favorite place to be for sailaways! NYC is amazing and after being there dozens of times (my husband is from there) I still haven't seen it all! But sailing out of New York harbor is amazing! Boston, been many times but still so much to see and do there!

Which NCL ship? We were on The Breakaway which has the Water Front area, outdoor seating and dining all around the deck. We had a balcony but honestly we only used it in the AM for our coffee time, the rest of the time we enjoyed The Waterfront area.

We just did the Round Trip from NYC this past Sept and it was wonderful! With Mom being 80 I would choose the cruise based on the easier flight for her. Is it easier for you to get to NYC or Quebec from your location? And what does the flight look like coming home from Boston? Just my thoughts as I know I flew my 83 year old Mom here from Arizona to meet her Great Grandkids and she loved seeing them but told me that was it, no more flying for her!

Windstar Breeze Dreams of Tahiti air/hotel package experiences?
mcmomny replied to mcmomny's topic in Windstar Cruises
My understanding is we get a day room for us to use before returning to the airport so we hope to enjoy the resort and maybe a little sight seeing before showering and heading to the airport. Please review your experience once you get back! Would love to hear how it went and what type of excursions you did! -
Windstar Breeze Dreams of Tahiti air/hotel package experiences?
mcmomny replied to mcmomny's topic in Windstar Cruises
Just following up, I posted this the day CC was having problems so not sure if anyone had try to respond and it wouldn't go thru! Thank you! -
I really enjoy the breakfast burritos in the MDR ! But my favorite meal has always been fish of any kind! They always prepare it well! I never had a bad meal on NCL

Some interesting cruises, but no full transit of The Panama Canal?

Good morning! We will be taking our first Windstar Cruise Oct of 2025, Dreams of Tahiti and booked the air/hotel package and was wondering about other travelers experiences with this package? I know their is only one flight out of LAX each day to Papeete, either at 4:20 pm or 11:55 pm. Our TA tells us the package flight should be at 4:20 pm which gets us to Papeete at 9:30 pm. The 11:55 pm flight has us arriving at 5:05 am. The Hotel stay is at The InterContinental Tahiti Resort How easy is it to upgrade (our cost of course) to an over the water bungalow? Is it possible with this package? Has anyone done this before? If we opt out of this package deal and use Airline miles instead and book our own rooms what are the chances of booking the day room for our return the airport? Plus miles flights seem to only be available for the 11:55 pm flight arriving at 5:05 am and would a room be available by 7 am?

We also had the same itinerary on the Pearl for our Alaska cruise in 2008, and with this being our first cruise we only booked NCL excursions and quickly realized we could have done without that and booked our own. We booked whale watching in Juneau which was a huge disappointment, the tour boat was so big it fit hundreds of people so very hard to see anything or take decent pictures. We were used to whale watching in Mexico in nice small boats with great viewing abilities. Plus we didn't see one whale! But we saw whales everyday off our balcony and most everywhere else we were! Skagway we had booked the Train thru NCL only to find out we could have booked online directly and saved more money! Nice train ride, and we had plenty of time to hike and enjoy the beautiful weather. Than a cute small town to walk around, have a beer and something to eat. Ketchikan we just walked around, we walked right up to the river and followed it up along all the shops and wooden walkway right to the Eagle Preserve and the Totem Pole Museum. Matter of fact we beat all the tour buses there so pretty much had the place to ourselves! Than we walked back down to the port thru the local neighborhoods and really enjoyed seeing their family Totem poles in their front yards. Glacier Bay was the reason we booked this cruise, just an amazing experience! As Bird says above make sure to listen to the Park Rangers talk about the Bay and the wildlife! Victoria we were not allowed to get off, the Pearl was having propulsion problems so she just docked to meet requirements and then went back to Seattle. Weather is hard to predict. Seattle we had sun and warm! No rain as everyone says! Juneau was pouring rain Skagway sunny and very warm! Ketchikan was a light mist Glacier Bay was overcast but no weather Pack layers, rain coat extra pair of shoes incase your first pair gets soaked in the rain. Now when we went in 2008 we were the only ship in most ports, now I guess Alaska is packed with huge cruise ships and tourist.

Well, our Breakaway NE/CA cruise was our first time in the Thermal Spa and I must agree it would have been nice in Alaska! Not sure what the spa looks like on The Encore but if it's up front like the Breakaways the views will be spectacular! and worth the cost. Alaska was our first cruise, way before the whole "Free at Seas" thing and we were pinching pennies to make sure we didn't have a huge bill at the end! We have since learned to relax and enjoy it! I now have a tree in the back yard that I can just go pick money off of when I want to splurge🤩

Good morning Bobby! First of all how was your cruise on The Breakaway? I didn't see any follow up from you or did I miss it? I guess it was great if you are looking to book another NCL cruise so quickly! Yea! We did Alaska the second week of September and there were no kids and we had an amazing time! Plus the ports of call were not crowded. Beautiful scenery, we had very good weather except one day where it rained all day. The weather will be comparable to our weather here in Bill's Country. Nice tree color, bright sky's, some cool days, some rain and some sunny and t-shirt and shorts days 🙂 We stayed in Seattle the day before, sorry don't remember the hotel but on our return we booked a car and drove to Mount Rainier National Park for two days, another amazing place! We always book thru a travel agency associated with our airline miles card, we wait for deals like double airline miles points, free gratuities and we still get all the NCL promo's and same price plus OBC. I have the same person now for years to help me out. We never use NCL air, we always just use our miles. My BIL and SIL in used NCL air once, it was cheap and went well but they don't think they will do it again. No name airlines and a long layover. Go BIll's!

Same here, we are Platinum on NCL and was matched Gold on MSC. Quick and easy

When, where and on what ship is your next South Pacific cruise?

10/9/2025 to 10/16/2025 Windstar Star Breeze Dream's of Tahiti! Super excited! -
We returned to Port Canaveral on the Seashore the day it reopened from Milton, no damages at all that were visible. Matter of fact all we noticed was some standing rain puddles and a few tree branches down. We sailed during Milton, nice and warm but very rainy. We did dock at Ocean Cay and had a great time in the rain but they did not open the shops or the buffet, the food trucks and bars were open. The second day on the Island was much nicer, the sun even popped out for a few minutes!

Jade- what is included with a Club Balcony Suite?
mcmomny replied to NancyW12's topic in Norwegian Cruise Line
Not sure about the bathroom set up on Jade club balcony as we opted against it due to being under deck 12, did not want to worry about the noise. Instead we opted for the Free at Seas Plus and really enjoyed that! -
Jade- what is included with a Club Balcony Suite?
mcmomny replied to NancyW12's topic in Norwegian Cruise Line
Club Balcony cabins are typically a little larger in the bathroom but on the Jade they are only on deck 11, underneath deck 12 which is where the pool, spa, buffet and teens club so you will hear noise from above. Back in the day Club Balcony cabins had some little perks including double latitudes points, snack tray and wine. Maybe slippers and house coat. But to mee the noise from deck 12 does not make it worth the extra cost, I would use the upgrade money for the thermal spa instead! -
My gratuities for my Oct 6th sailing were applied to my account the first day of sailing, my OBC covered it. Sorry, but I don't know the answer for Yacht Club
