  1. What I can say is I have flown 100"s of times over my lifetime and get really annoyed with those who still don't understand the simple carry on rules but silly me recently didn't empty her refillable water bottle and had to go back thru security so I could dump it out and reenter with it empty! 🤣
  2. I watched a lady go to "The Naughty" room at customs because she forgot to take the apple out of her bag before getting off the plane from a foreign country back into the USA.
  3. Grand Cayman is a tender port and if you book NCL excursions you have priority tender times to make the excursion. We found out before we left the ship that our excursion on Grand Cayman had been cancelled already due to the windy conditions but the tenders were still going and we went ashore for awhile to check out the island Once back on board we went to the excursion desk and booked the stingray excursion that is right off Great Stirrup Cay Private Island, it was cheaper and a small group and easy to do and still have plenty of time to enjoy the private Island. I am assuming your cruise has a stop at Great Stirrup Cay?
  4. I always bring individual bags of nuts and some power bars for the long excursions that don't have lunch. I also bring a can or two of Pringles for the midnight snack in the cabin! Pringles travel better than bags of chips. And of course, my husbands favorite breakfast cookie to have with our morning coffee on the balcony before we head out for the day 🥰
  5. We were booked for this in Grand Cayman a few years back but it was too windy so it was canceled, but we rebooked for Great Stirrup Cay and had a blast, small group and easy to do!
  6. And if you can't find a time you like you can also call NCL and they will try to help you, if not as soon as you board the ship ask "where do I go to make dinner reservations" and they will direct you. Yes they do save a certain amount of times for people once they board, plus check daily as people often cancel or change their reservations. Enjoy your cruise!
  7. My husband loved his MacCallan 12 Years Single Malt nightly and I really enjoyed my night cap of Grand Marnier. He assures me that how much scotch he drank made the upgrade worth it 🙂 He also enjoyed hi Starbuck's several times a day including a nice Cappuccino each night with dessert!
  8. Thank you, yes I did go into my "cart" and deleted it so I hope I am all good now!
  9. Just looked again and it is still there for me, but it doesn't work so it is a big glitch in their system
  10. Thank you! Just looked at my cart and my attempt to purchase the wine and use the excursion credit that didn't work was still there so I discarded it!
  11. What I can say is I had to Google "how to take a screen shot" and how to post it to CC so I learned something of value today other than believing NCL and their app!
  12. Ok, just tried buying a bottle of wine that had the excursion credit and it didn't work 😞 Oh well, thought it was weird and too good to be true!
  13. Yes, I went as far as putting it in my cart and the discount was applied but I canceled. Didn't seem right plus I don't need a half sheet cake! I might try the bottle of wine, it sounded pretty good! I figure thou once we sail I will be told it was a mistake. We will see.
  14. I don't remember ever seeing unused excursion money added to my OBC before. I did not book any excursions thru NCL so are you telling me i will receive OBC for this?
  15. Looking at my NCL app today and trying to book some specialty dining it gives me the option to apply my daily excursion credit from my Free At Seas offer towards the cost! I have never seen this before! And this seems odd. Probably a glitch I have not booked any excursions as we are doing our own thing, I am Platinum so we already have 4 specialty dinners scheduled but looking at the app I can apply the benefit to some things like buying two specialty dinners, some cakes but not all, some bottles of wine but not all. Crazy! Things like Captains Choice white wine, full sheet honeymoon cake! I'm at 18 days out and all checked in.
  16. Last August we took the NCL excursion to Santorini, they tender you to the old port where you take buses to the sights and then they left us near the cable cars to get back to the tenders and the ship. When we were there it was super crowded, multiple ships in port at the time and very hot! So after a quick glance around we walked right up to the cable car and got our own car and went down with no problems or wait. Maybe because we didn't linger long and headed back to the ship with plenty of time to avoid the rush.
  17. https://www.statueofliberty.org/ellis-island/overview-history/ Sounds like records from Clinton Castle were moved to Ellis Island but there was a fire in 1897 that destroyed many records.
  18. Cheap bottle of bubbly Chocolate covered strawberry's one night One free bag of laundry Becareful, sometimes Club Balcony cabins are under pool deck or buffett and can be noisy
  19. Thank you for your review! Loved it and it so reminded me of our wonderful cruise on The Jade last July in Greece!
  20. We also felt this was the best way for us to see Hawaii and we loved it! We booked excursion from locals, just google search or read port of call reviews from CC or Trip advisor. But beware that if you post questions about the pros and cons of cruising Hawaii on Trip Advisor you will get lots of feedback from those who feel you need to spend two weeks per island and that a cruise is not the way to do it! But who has the time or money to spend two weeks per island! Not me and now I can say I have been to Hawaii 🙂 So I ignored those comments but found lots of good info on local tour companies, we also rented a car on each island and just did our own thing which was so wonderful! It is an older ship, older than The Sun I believe but we found it comfortable and yes people complain about the crew but we found them to be happy and funny and really enjoyed our time on the ship. There won't be a lot of on board activities as the main attraction is the Islands! It sounds to me like this would be a great choice for you and your family, and yes go in a few days early to adjust to the time change and to sightsee in Honolulu before boarding the ship
  21. The Great Outdoors is our favorite place to be during sail away! Great live review!
  22. Thank you everyone for your responses! We plan on taking the kids to the parking lot of Kennedy Space Center to see the missiles in the parking lot, I do think the entire tour would be too boring for them. Went here a few years ago and just what you can see in the parking lot will do the trick! Then take our time driving to Orlando and then Disney Springs for a while before heading to the airport! Yes Disney World would be more than the cruise and way too crazy with a 3 and 5 year old! Been there done that with the kids father, what a waste of money! At 5 our son has no real memory of our trip to Disney!
  23. As with most European Hotels the rooms and bathrooms are small but fit the bill! It was the breakfast, hotel staff, location and most of all the roof top bar that made it super special! Enjoy!
  24. I agree! We stayed at The Hotel Attalos last August and the location was great! Friendly staff, excellent breakfast at Hotel and the amazing roof top bar and views were to die for! Close enough walk to The Acropolis and other sights and than a quick taxi ride to the port for our cruise!
