No Thursday football in The Whiskey bar this past week on The Breakaway, guys were watching it on their phones 😞

Paul made sure we would be at The Citadel at noon to witness the cannon going off and changing of the guards! If you are into shopping (I'm not) there is only one spot to shop and that is at Fisherman's Cove which was cute, nice stuff and not crowded!

Halifax Titanic Tour, 6 hours

We just returned from Halifax on a cruise and used Paul for our tour, very interesting and informative tour! Paul was very aware of our time in port and made sure to show us as much as he could and to get us back to the ship in plenty of time! Instead of Peggy's Cove he took us to Fisherman's Cove, Beautiful, no crowds and cute shopping. We also had a wonderful lunch at Evan's seafood! Our group was a total of 9 people in a clean, comfortable van

For our Sept 1st cruise there was a price drop of $560 dollars, my TA called and we were given FCC of $560 which was applied to our account. Good for two years.

Good afternoon, Newbie to MSC but not to cruising, we will be on the 4 day Seashore Ocean Cay and Bahamas in October and are trying to figure out the cost of Teppanyaki if we don't want to purchase the 2 meal package. We are Fantastica and loyalty matched Gold. Also is there anyway to make dinner reservations online or do we wait until we board? Thank you in advance for your help!

Just a few final thoughts on our great cruise! This was our 9th NCL cruise and we became Platinum before this cruise, we did the Free at Seas and pre purchased the Thermal Spa package as we were concerned about cooler weather and not being able to spend much time on deck. Because I now had 4 Specialty dining meals I made sure to book them as soon as I could, but we aren't early eaters so I tended to book 630 to 7 pm times. All set! Once show reservations appeared I wasn't allowed to make reservations because my dining times conflicted with the show times, I called NCL to try and move dining times but she couldn't find anything that would work and told me to do it as soon as I got on the ship. But the lines were crazy for this so we waited till the next day to make it work out for us. So book your dinner times for 530 or 6 if you want the early show times! We Upgraded our beverage package onboard and our stock holder OBC was applied to this cost! I really miss the "washy, washy" sanitizer being sprayed into everyone's hands! Very few people washed their hands before entering the buffet and no one washed hands for MDR's or Specialty dining rooms. A few would use sanitizer but the majority did not. I forgot how small the balconies are in The Breakaway but we made do! Do not book next to an angled balcony cabin as you have very little privacy from that balcony, our neighbor was friendly and always leaning over to talk to us. Which is ok most of the time but not first thing in the morning when your out there in your housecoat 😁 We always tip on top of the prepaid gratuities, I know some disagree and while others do agree. We have no problem with paying those mandated gratuities as it is pooled for all crew but we also like to show our appreciation to those who have provided us with excellent service. Thanks for following along with me ( forgive my typos along the way as I did it all form cellphone when I had a few minutes of wifi!) and enjoy your cruise!

Bobby, when will you be on The Breakaway? She is scheduled for dry dock mid Feb thru March which is needed badly. Our only problem with the Thermal spa was several of the windows the vapor seal was gone so the windows were cloudy with poor visibility, probably about 20% of those windows so when the spa was busy you might get stuck with a poor view. But people do come and go often so you should be able to move to a better view! We saw whales on our cruise last week! Otherwise everything in the spa worked just fine The dry dock is needed as the ship was pretty beat up but none of this affected our enjoyment of this cruise but I am sure others would be upset. The crew were amazing and be sure to spend time in The Whiskey Bar, great crew there!

The ship Captain was Ashutosh Chandra who was wonderful! Each morning very nice comments about each, clear instructions about all aboard times and wished us a happy day ashore! Than each evening welcoming us back and letting us know about our next port of call, very apologetic about the changes for Halifax and the upcoming rough night of wind and waves

Premium liquor menu but several things were not on this menu but available such as Rock Hill Farms single batch bourbon $35 per drink

Hope you can read this saying on my beer glass! I thought it was cute!

Last night was Le Bristro and it was spectacular! Melanie was our waitress. Such a great smile and personality! Excellent meal, excellent time! Stopped into Howl at the Moon, plenty of seats open, always fun time! Headed back to our cabin to pack and put bags out, we had yellow tags which you have to ask the desk for as they don't put those out as he said everyone would take them. Called it a night around 10 pm as we wanted to get up early to watch the sail into NYC i woke at 3 am and we were docked already! So went back to sleep for awhile. breakfast at the buffet and than we walked off around 740, grabbed our bags and hopped into our car and hit the road! 5 hour drive for us but still better than flying to the port!

Our dinner on Friday in The Manhattan room was again excellent! Great service, excellent meal and nice band playing smooth jazz. The shop rocking alot already and the crew were handling it well!

Yes anytime as many times as you want no reservations required. We just git off The Breakaway and had the Thermal Spa package fir the week and went everyday. Our first day a sea day and the spa was crowded but after that the rest of the week it was lovely!

People do complain about the casino and the cigarette smoke, sometimes I noticed it and other times not but yesterday with the bad weather the casino was packed with smokers and I could smell it on several decks. While I am not a smoker I do feel for those who do smoke as there are very few spots they can be. You would think that by now, cruise ships could design a smokers area with ventilation so the smokers can enjoy their cigarette and not bother those who don't smoke.

Breakfast Saturday was at Savor, I'm not sure why but the tea service is not done by your waitress it's passed on to someone else. Our first morning at Taste I was almost done with my breakfast by the time I got my tea, same the next time yesterday I asked fir my tea and said I didn't want to place my order till my I had a cup of tea. Well that messed up the whole team! The waitress was annoyed. The head people asked her what were we waiting for, she told them but no one moved to get my tea for me, finally the head guy came over and asked me what was wrong! I said that I had been waiting 15 minutes now for tea so finally it arrived! Once breakfast was over I asked the head guy why does it take too long for tea, his response was they don't have enough tea pots and there were too many Brits and Australians on board! Oh my! So while I prefer to have breakfast at a sit down place the whole tea thing forces me to go to the buffett which my husband much prefers!

Well Friday night was a rocking and rolling night! All outside furniture tied down, doors locked and no one allowed outside. Saw many people struggling with it but we did fine, pretty good night's sleep! Woke up to cool cloudy rain so we spent the morning in the thermal spa but they had drained the pool and hot tubs. Spa was very quiet. The sun started to come out and the waves calmed down so we were allowed outside but the pools and hot tubs were empty still. Saw a woman complaining to an officer about no water in the pool! Went to the wine and tapas event, very nice and extremely informative time!

Tomorrow I won't have internet but if I do I will post! Tonight is dinner at Manhattan and than Prelude Duo at Shakers! What a great trip we have been having!

So the Captain just came on to let us know heavy rain starting at 8 pm till 8 am windy and 6 to 10 foot waves 🫣
