bshow Posted October 26, 2014 #1 Share Posted October 26, 2014 My wife and I will be celebrating our 27th anniversary while on our Eurodam cruise in Dec.This will be our third HAL cruise. I'm looking for ideas of things I might arrange through the ship. We are traveling with extended family, but we could do something separate. Our actual anniversary is on the second-to-last day, a sea day. I thought about some kind of a spa service for her; she has never done one. Thank you in advance for any suggestions. eandj Posted October 27, 2014 #3 Share Posted October 27, 2014 (edited) How about a couple's massage together? A specialty dinner for just you and your wife? Not sure of your itineary, but maybe an especially cool excursion for the day ie catamaran champagne cruise, ziplining, small plane/copter tour, swim with the dolphins etc And of course there's getting her a nice piece of jewelry. We bought my mom a gold necklace at home and presented it at our first family dinner on her 80th birthday cruise. She could wear it from the first night.;) And don't forget you can set up a private photo sitting for something not cruise generic. Write your wife a letter. Tell that you love her and why you have loved her yesterday, and will love her today and tomorrow. Ask for her continued love, and promise yours. Put the letter somewhere in your cabin where she might find it during your cruise. You might also want to ask her out to dinner on your anniversary, and perhaps just spending the day together, just the two of you. I'm sure your extended family will understand - and if they don't too bad about them! :) Happy Anniversary! Cheers, -S. I would definitely have a dinner in either the Tamarind or the Pinnacle restaurant. You might also consider a nice bottle of wine. Have a wonderful 27th anniversary. Krazy Kruizers Posted October 27, 2014 #11 Share Posted October 27, 2014 Rereading your original post, you mentioned that your actual anniversary will be on the last sea day. That will be a formal night if that makes any difference.

eandj Posted October 27, 2014 #13 Share Posted October 27, 2014 I don't think formal night would be on the "last sea day" if the ship is docking the next morning.
Mmtrip Posted October 27, 2014 #14 Share Posted October 27, 2014 I don't think formal night would be on the "last sea day" if the ship is docking the next morning. We have a formal night the day before we arrive in FLL on the Amsterdam. We arrive on Dec. 22, final formal night (according to Cruise Specialist) in on Dec. 21.

take us away Posted October 27, 2014 #16 Share Posted October 27, 2014 You mentioned you were traveling with extended family. If you want to have a group dinner, you can ask about having dinner in a private dining room either from the MDR or the Pinnacle, as both venues have that capability. If this is something of interest, recommend calling HAL customer service to enquire or talking with the maître d' in the MDR or the Pinnacle very early in the cruise. Mmtrip Posted October 27, 2014 #17 Share Posted October 27, 2014 Last night of a cruise is never formal. :o Just double checked and it is on the 20th, not the 21st. I was thinking it was strange...
TheEmerson Posted October 27, 2014 #18 Share Posted October 27, 2014 We celebrated our Anniversary this year on the Massdam. I booked in advance a set of spa treatments for the DW. Roses to be delivered that morning while we were at Breakfast. Also the staff at the Pinnacle knew so we had a quiet table for breakfast. For dinner I had already ordered a bottle of Dom that was delivered once we sat down, and the staff put us in a secluded location at the window leaving the tables near us empty. An extra course was delivered and the head chef came out to ask how was our meal. To follow up was a cake presented to us and then delivered to the room. Just a few preorder items and asking the right people goes a long way. What is best is taking a glass of something and your SO out on the Promenade at night after a nice dinner and just walk a lap or two. Talk, hear the water, sounds of the prop wash get louder and softer on each lap.

bshow Posted October 28, 2014 Author #20 Share Posted October 28, 2014 I probably described the day wrong. Anniversary is on Friday, a sea day. Cruise ends on Sunday morning. So I think it probably is a formal night.
