We<3WDW Posted November 1, 2014 #1 Share Posted November 1, 2014 We will be in St Thomas from 1-8. Thinking of doing a private boating/snorkeling excursion around St Thomas, St. John and maybe the BVI. My question is...if you don't "land" on a BVI do you have to pay customs? With really only about 4 hours in the boat we can't justify the extra $45 customs fee but would just love for our friends to see the waterways around the islands. Thanks. O2B@Cagain Posted November 1, 2014 #2 Share Posted November 1, 2014 Yes, you have to go through BVI Customs and Immigration in the BVI, pay your fees, and clear US Customs and Immigration in St John on the way back. They do take it quite seriously. Bring your friends back for a land-based visit. ;)

searoses Posted November 5, 2014 #4 Share Posted November 5, 2014 It would surprise me if your tour operator would allow this....they can take the boat if caught....
