Which Carnival excursion to St. John should I take?

OPTION 1

St. John Trunk Bay Beach and Snorkel Trails. Stops at a few outlooks around St. John for pictures then you spend time at Trunk Bay.

OPTION 2

St. John Champagne Catamaran Sailaway. Catamaran to Honeymoon Beach/Bay on St. John.

Has anyone done either of these? Any preference to Trunk Bay or Honeymoon Beach? Thanks!

We did the beach and snorkel trails in September and loved it. Ferry pulls up right by the ship and it is about a 40 minute ride over to St. John. Stopped for pics on the way to the beach. Beach is gorgeous. You can rent chairs if you want but we never got out of the water. Just wish the time at the beach was a bit longer but we were so glad to have done this excursion.

We have actually taken BOTH several times over the years!

Either is VERY good so you can't make a bad decision.

Have to admit ... we do like the St. John Champagne Catamaran Sailaway a bit better because it's such a lovely sail. :)

We did the beach and snorkel trails in January. We had a private boat take us over and not the ferry. Not sure why, maybe because of the amount of people signed up. It was a nice boat ride over and very informative commentary. I really enjoyed it. Trunk bay is beautiful.

Thank you! If I have never been to St. John, will I miss out on seeing some of the beautiful sites by just taking the catamaran? The Trunk Bay excursion drives you a bit around St. John allowing you to take pictures at various places, correct? Which one allows more time at the beach?

Thanks! Do you remember roughly how long you had at the beach? And was it very crowded?

Also, is one beach (Trunk/Honeymoon) prettier than the other?

The driving around on this one is basically getting you to Trunk Bay but a quite scenic drive. Yes, there are two stops going for "photo opts".

Saw that severall folks answered this question and we have gone to Carnival Site and cannot find them listed. Are these excursions that are available once on board or are these trips done on your own. We like the idea od going to St. John and snorkeling for a little while. Both of the above look like what we are interested in. Please, a little help!!!

Have to agree that it is not easy to see all of the excursions offered for a sailing on the Carnival Site. Just hate trying to find and book an excursion on that site. :o
