We are a family of 4 (4yr old & 18 mo old). We have an extra day when our ship gets back into Tampa...should we stay in Tampa or go to Orlando? We don't want to spend a ton of money on Disney or something like that since the kids prob won't remember it lol. Just looking for advice on how to finish up vacation on a fun note....Thanks!

Just hang around Tampa...you need more than a day to experience Disney....and they are really to young to appreciate "the magic"!!! Google Tampa, and find things you might like to do.

The Florida Aquarium is right at the port of Tampa, and it's really nice- it has a great outdoor splash area too and restaurant. We always go there after the cruise when we are flying out in the afternoon- they will store luggage there too.

You can think of the Tampa Bay area as another port stop! We live in the area (about 20 minutes from port) and there is plenty to do!

The beach is about 40 minutes away from the port or as others have said the Aquarium is great for kids that age! You can take a trolley ride downtown for a dollar per adult or 5 all day and go to Ybor, the Riverwalk, etc.

Do your research and you will have a great time! If you have any specific questions about the area, let me know!

If you are going to have a rental car check out Dinosaur World. It is 45 minutes or less from port. Easy to find right off highway and well marked. Your kids are perfect age. We took our grandkids last month who are 4 1/2 and 2 1/2. They don't sell food but have really nice picnic spots throughout the park. Look for online coupons. Our total for 4 adults 2 kids was 87$

We did a few days in Tampa this spring - stayed in St. Petersburg and enjoyed walking around/exploring, Clearwater beach and a dolphin cruise (which was great fun for us, including the 2-year-old), sunken gardens, etc. We also tried to go to the Manatee viewing center, but it was out-of-season. After Tampa we went to Orlando and did "non-park-Disney" - resort time, a few favorite restaurants, spring training baseball game, and downtown disney - DD got a little fix and it wasn't overly expensive/busy.
