DrJW Posted November 7, 2014 #1 Share Posted November 7, 2014 Are purchased made on board while on criuise and charged to the passengers credit card on file...are they posted as being charged in US or abroad? The reason I ask that many CC companies charge a 3% transaction fee for charges made abroad..so was wondering how O posts their charges. Thanks for feedback. In past yes -- many on board charges are routed through their bank in Ireland. Even if in USD there could be a FTF depending on your Credit Card company -- there are a number of threads about this and the banks and CC that do not charge these fees. You are more likely to see these on European cruises than Caribbean -- but no guarantees. Please read your terms -- these are clearly defined. Foreign/Currency Transaction Fees Banks issuing credit cards may impose “Foreign/Currency Transaction Fees” for onboard purchases for all itineraries, including transactions denominated in US Dollars. Oceania Cruises accepts no responsibility for foreign/currency transaction processing fees charged by credit card companies. Guests should check with their individual credit card companies for more information. None of these fees separately charged by the Guests issuing banks accrues to the benefit of Oceania Cruises. All charges on board are on my credit card with no additional fee. May not be so for the OP Edited November 7, 2014 by PaulMCO
