Carnival Cruise Cash - Gone?

Hello,

Since Carnival has launched the Cruise Cash, I have always purchased a little each pay check in advanced for all my cruises.

I've done it a few times for my upcoming cruise in December and went to put more but notice the regular cruise cash option is gone - it only has the Cruise Cash Bar and Cruise Cash Photo.

I always only put regular since I can use it in the casino - any news from Carnival on this? Is this permanent? I cant find anything - hopefully someone else has heard something!

EDIT:

Looks like it is a glitch.... http://www.carnival.com/Funville/forums/p/334798/1729041.aspx

Hopefully it will be fixed soon!

None that I can see - I guess if you wanted to budget better and set aside money specifically for photo or bar.

I've only ever purchased the general cruise cash and used it for Bar, Photo, Casino, Restaurants, Excursions, Tips - Everything.

This is the first time I have heard about Carnival Cruise cash. What is the incentive?? I would never give anymore money to Carnival unless there was something in it for me. They are already making $$$$$$$ on all the cruises by having FULL PAYMENT 4 months in advance! Why give them more????

If you want to save money for the cruise open an account with Discover Bank. The INTEREST rate is .85 percent and you can transfer any amount from your local bank to DISCOVER Bank online. NO MINIMUM. NO FEES.

I'm not sure about cruise cash, but with cruise cash photo & cruise cash bar, it's use it or lose it. At least I think that's how it works.

Why not get Carnival Gift Cards & take them to the purser's desk to have them put on your S & S account. You can now even buy them at some stores - ie. Kroger.

There is no incentive. Around Father's Day they had a special on their GIFT CARDS where you got a 10% e-card for every card you bought online.

I bought enough to pay off both of our cruises & have the 10% e-cards to put on my S & S acct.

I called the Gifts department directly because I wanted to purchase Cruise Cash for a relative as a gift to use on-board. They advised me that there was no problem and charged my card and credited the cabin. They did not know what was wrong with the website.

A whole 0.85%?

I wouldn't worry about the interest, OP. Say you put $500 in that account for 4 months, you would earn a whopping $1.42 in interest!

I find it interesting that people have opinions on other people's money and spending habits. If someone wants to purchase Cruise Cash, why flame them?

Personally I LOVE to pre-pay as much as possible. So Carnival has my money 4 months earlier, that's not going to make me go bankrupt.

I couldn't agree more.

ITS BACK! In case anyone was in the same situation - cruise cash general is back.

I will always continue to apply $ on board before my cruise as long as the option is available.

Some people might not agree but I apply this and get the cheers beverage package (But i'm also a heavy drinker ;)).

There is NO better feeling than knowing I can eat, drink, and do whatever I want for 8 days and not have to hit my bank account once because its all taken care of. That feeling on vacation is true relaxation and priceless. 1 more pina colada? SURE why not :D
