My husband is currently receiving about 75% of his nourishment via a feeding tube ( down from 100%. Yeah!), the rest thru semi liquid/ liquid by mouth . We hope to have the feeding tube out by march but he will still not be able to eat most solid foods ..was thinking if I could bring a less powerful nutri bullet for protein shakes some smoothies etc.( he can't stand ensure/boost) . He's recovering from head and neck cancer and the grueling treatments and their side effects , and medically will be good to go .Please don't suggest postponing the trip, that's not an option . Cruise is in early June on the Jade in Europe.

I wish the best for you and your husband.

If I were you I would contact NCL's special needs department. They may be able to prepare the food for him or if not provide the blender.

I assume you have arranged for his needs on the long flights (and possible delays, etc) as well.

I would agree with the special needs. In all reality, they probably would not even know you had the blender and it would be fine. I read about folks taking blenders for booze smoothies often.

I don't think there would be any problem bringing your own blender. However, the galleys should be able to purée or blend any food combination that you wish for your husband. We sailed on the Epic about 4 years ago and on the first day we met with one of maître d's and explained our needs. (We had also filled out an access form prior to the cruise.) Each day we told him what restaurant we would be dining in the next day and he saw to it that a puréed meal was prepared for my son. (They would probably deliver your husband's puréed shakes for his tube feeding to your cabin if you request for that to be done).

We will be sailing again in January and hope to have the same level of service. Good luck to you!
