rvsullivan Posted November 17, 2014 #1 Share Posted November 17, 2014 Because the info for has been so contradictory for the last few years, I called the New Orleans Regional Transit Authority today. The assured me that you can carry your suitcases on board a streetcar. They must be placed under your seat. This has not always been the case in the past. Not sure if it is a recent change or not. Here is the RTA's number if you want to verify yourself: (504) 248-3900. Good luck and enjoy your New Orleans visit.
misguidedangel Posted November 23, 2014 #2 Share Posted November 23, 2014 I've seen riders on the street car with two pieces of luggage--nice enough to sit at the back to not block anyone's way.....Saw two women get on with luggage in September too at the stop right by the aquarium
Rare mitsugirly Posted January 20, 2015 #3 Share Posted January 20, 2015 I can't even imagine...maybe it was the time I was there, but there wasn't even any place to sit on it (or stand hardly for that matter) let alone be able to get a suitcase on it or put it under your seat. Hopefully it's not like that all the time. :(
nolatravelgirl Posted January 20, 2015 #4 Share Posted January 20, 2015 There are lots of things you are legally allowed to do, but the question you should be asking yourself is whether you should do it.
