NCTribeFan Posted November 20, 2014 #26 Share Posted November 20, 2014 Now I really am confused. The Verizon e-gift cards aren't promotional cards. Are you talking about the Carnival Father's Day promo that they had back in June where you bought at full face value but received a 10% promotional card as well? I've used both. I applied the promo cards to the sailing I'm taking on 11/29. Followed the procedure outlined above. No problem applying them to the balance. I don't use a TA. I use a PVP but didn't have to call him or anyone else at Carnival. I took the big Father's Day card with me on the 11/1 Splendor sailing and took it to the desk and had it applied to my S&S account. Despite what others had said (like I mentioned, there are other Gift Card threads that are current; have you read through those?), the balance did NOT go back on my card. I received a refund check a couple of days ago. So... I've applied bonus cards to cruise fares. I've applied regular cards to S&S accounts on the ship. You "should" be able to use any of them to pay for the balance of your cruise. What you cannot do is apply them to already paid-in-full cruises to have an OBC waiting for you when you board. You must take them and apply them once you're on the ship.
belkin Posted November 20, 2014 #27 Share Posted November 20, 2014 I have paid off 2 cruises with these cards and had zero issues. Just booked the Breeze today and paid for the whole thing including grats with cards I purchased 5 minutes prior.
Kaszdad Posted November 20, 2014 #28 Share Posted November 20, 2014 (edited) I see you are from Irvine. I live in Mission Viejo :) Hi Neighbor!Hi back at you. Yup just up the 5 a bit. I see you found out why they didn't work, at least you know they can be used for another cruise payment or could fund your S&S on the cruise.Ken Edited November 20, 2014 by Kaszdad
