Rare DOJO466 Posted November 21, 2014 #1 Share Posted November 21, 2014 We arrive at King's Wharf April 4th for an overnight. We want to do a carriage ride in St. Geroge's and wonder will the ferry be running this early in the year, especially if a ship is in port. I know we can take the bus but the ferry is much quicker. njhorseman Posted November 21, 2014 #2 Share Posted November 21, 2014 It's far too early to say, although your cruise may very well be too early. In the past they've published an end date on the winter ferry schedule so you would know from that date when the summer service (including service to St. George's) was starting. This year the winter schedule only says service to St. George's will resume in April, without specifying a date. Last I heard they hadn't even decided whether they would charter the high speed ferry Millennium again for the St. George's route. Sometimes they have offered ferry service before and after the published schedule dates when a ship is in port, so that may happen when your cruise arrives. If they're not running a ferry to St. George's, your best travel route is to take a Blue Route ferry from Dockyard to Hamilton, walk to the bus station, and then take a #1, 3, 10, or 11 bus to St. George's. In any event it's not something that has to be planned in advance. No reservations are needed or taken for the buses and ferries.
