What does free upgrade mean exactly? Booked past guest for next May on the Breeze. Also does it matter if I make final payment before due date in February? What if there is a price drop after I make final payment

What does free upgrade mean exactly?

An example would be balcony rooms which are categorized as 8A-8E.(or higher depending on the ship) The higher the letter the more desirable the location. If you had a free upgrade you would for example pay for an 8B but could book an 8C.

Unless you book Early Saver, according to the rules, you would not be eligible for OBC. Depending on how much the price drops you might be able to upgrade your stateroom.

It means an upgrade according to the cruise cabin categories. Each cabin category ( interior, window, balcony, suite) has several grades depending on deck and location. It doesn't mean that if you have an interior and.get upgraded, you are getting a suite.

"Free" means you don't have to pay a red cent to get a better cabin. An "upsell" is when they call you and ask if you'd like to pay X amount for a better cabin.

Sometimes you get a free upgrade going from an A to a D. Which is the same type of cabin only on higher deck

A free upgrade is the same cabin in a different location on the ship.

According to our PVP, if you pay your cruise off before the due date and the price drops, your credit card will be credited for the price drop up to the date that final payment is due. After the due date if it drops, you can't take advantage of it.
