Hi people,

Need some helps on planing. We will have a carnival cruise and sail-out from Miami port. We will come from Ocala, FL, which is about 310 miles between the 2 places. The departure date is 12/21/2014, should we go to Miami on 12/20 and stay one night in a hotel close to the port? Or should we just drive straight from Ocala to port and board?

I would drive in the day before. Gives you leeway if there is something that delays or otherwise hinders you ability to get there.

I would leave Ocala the day before. You may save money by driving most of the way and staying at an inexpensive hotel in Broward of Palm Beach County.

 

I would be exhausted driving down to get there in time to board and lose out on some of the enjoyment of the first day.

Definitely arrive the day before as others have recommended.

 

That way you don't have to worry about traffic and more importantly of other issues should you have a breakdown or even some type of accident.
