jmcookiemonster25 Posted December 8, 2014 #1 Share Posted December 8, 2014 (edited) Hello! On Saturday I'll be embarking on a 9 day Eastern Caribbean cruise (EEEEEK!!!). We'll be hitting: San Juan, Puerto Rico; St. Thomas, US Virgin Islands; Philipsburg, St. Maarten; and Tortola, British Virgin Islands. I have never been to any of these places before. Does anyone have ideas for must-see or must-do things? We won't be doing any excursions through the ship, just looking for things to do on our own. We are not huge beach people, but if there's a must-see beach, feel free to list it. Neither of us are shoppers. We don't want to do scuba-diving, snorkeling, or swimming with sea creatures, but a glass bottom boat or other type of water tour would be great! I would love to try zip-lining, and I heard one of these islands has that, I just can't remember which one! Thank you in advance! NH Cruisers Posted December 8, 2014 #2 Share Posted December 8, 2014 (edited) Maho beach on the Dutch side St. Maarten. Watching the planes pass only 20 or so feet overhead is fun. For me any how. Old San Juan is a great place to check out. Get a bag of Puerto Rican coffee, fresh. Good stuff. Edited December 8, 2014 by NH Cruisers

SuiteTraveler Posted December 8, 2014 #4 Share Posted December 8, 2014 Ziplining is as common as sand in the Caribbean. You can zip line at every port of call if you want to! San Juan - self guided walking tour - here is a complete tour for your use: http://www.puertoricodaytrips.com/old-san-juan-walking-tour-1/ alternatively there is zip lining in the rainforest on this island. St. Thomas: Coral World Ocean Park or hire a boat to take you on a day trip to visit the BVI and have a champagne picnic or zip lining. St. Maarten: Shopping and dining or zip lining at Loterie Farm Tortola: BVI Helicopter tour or Original Virgin Canopy zip line tour
