My husband and I just got off the Triumph on Sat. and was surprised to see that when you hit 500 pts. you receive $5 instead of the 1000 pts. to receive $10. And that's it, no more cash back per 500 pts. We are always use to receiving $10 each time you reach 1000 pts. Just wondering if this is something new or is it just on shorter cruises. We do many free Premier cruises throughout the year, but not on shorter cruises. :confused:

That stinks if it is on every cruise. I did receive $10 for every 1K points in October , I was on an 8 day Splendor cruise. Although I don't think I ever "won" with the $10 anyway. :mad:

On the Magic in October it was still $10 each 1000 points. Not worth a whole lot but every little bit helps.

Just off the Freedom this past Sunday. 500 point increments earned $5, I believe I got 3 of them for a total of $15.

 

After that nothing except a letter saying I won a free inside cabin on selected cruises.

 

The dates go through April. I already have vacations planned January through March that conflict with Carnival's selections. The 2 cruises in April on the list that I can sail had no availability when I called to check. Oh well, maybe next time. Spin those slots!

Elation in November (B2B - 20th - 29th) they were doing this. I received two $5 cash backs on around 3000 points (at 500 and 1,000 points)

 

Just got off the Dream Sunday (December 14-21), and they are doing it, as well. I received ONE $5 cash back on over 5,000 points (at 500 points)

 

So, they are implementing it on multiple ships, but it is not consistently being offered at every 500 point increment.

Well, you were lucky if you received it 3 times. My husband hit 10,000 pts and I hit 5,000 pts and only received the $5 once each. We got the $10 each 1,000 pts. on our 7 day on the Glory in Sept. Hope this will not be the new norm!!!:eek:

Well this just blows.........it's this kind of cr@p that is making it easier for me just to keep my $1000 a week that I spend in the casino and start going to Vegas.

If you are gambling for comps, there is no need to ever gamble on a cruise ship. None can match a Vegas casino for comps, odds, variety, entertainment, and on and on. In comparison, cruise ships can only give you crap. The two are just not in the same league.

Carnival just got into a partnership with Tropicana and I think its a great thing for gamblers.Maybe they will learn something about the comping system casinos use

Best deal if you are a gambler is the table games. You will lose money on the slots. But if you do hit 1500 points, just put your card in, order your free drink, then walk, repeat often. That way you will recoup at some of your losses.

It was my experience on the Freedom 12/13/14 cruise that the drink staff were overly aggressive and totally available when I had less than 1500 points. After I achieved that level, they became scarce and much harder to find.

Well I finally walked off a BIG WINNER!! I only played video poker on the Triumph last week and one night I started playing .25 max and hit the progressive royal flush for $2365. After getting my jackpot paperwork done I had a little over $200 left so I flipped it over to $1 max and 10 min later hit another Royal Flush for $8000, most I've ever won in my life!!! It was so exciting!!!:D

Thanks so much, it was a nice early Merry Christmas to me!! Best of all it was my daughters 18th birthday cruise and so my whole family was there to see it happen!!
