Rare aussielozzie18 Posted December 23, 2014 #1 Share Posted December 23, 2014 We will be doing the "Jewel of Fiji" tour soon. Part of the tour involves visiting a village where I believe the locals will be selling handcrafted items. Just wondering if payment will be strictly FJD or are the locals happy to accept AUD in small denominations (like they do in the South Pacific)? cruisine21 Posted December 23, 2014 #2 Share Posted December 23, 2014 I was at the village markets at the end of November and they accepted both Australian dollars and Fiji dollars. They had craft items price marked in both currencies. Sent from my iPad using Forums
6666oz Posted December 23, 2014 #3 Share Posted December 23, 2014 (edited) Did the "Jewel of Fiji"tour a few weeks ago , they accepted Oz dollars no worries. They will be selling their goodies after you have your lunch, and take a change of clothes going up the river can get a bit bumpy, but thoroughly recommend this tour and take a camera, we had our own photographer on board who got off at certain points in the river to take happy snaps of us, its worth buying the CD. Wear your swimmers under your clothes as you can go for a swim in the rock pool under the waterfall. Edited December 23, 2014 by 6666oz
