About to go on our first cruise eek! My husband is an insulin defendant diabetic, does he need anything special to take his medical supplies on board? Also does Royal allow you to take water and soda on with you?

Welcome to Cruise Critic!

Each cruise line has policies for needle use and disposal. Are you on Royal Caribbean? I would start with their website for needle policies. You should also go to the portion of Cruise Critic devoted to Royal Caribbean, located here:

If you are talking about Royal Princess, the portion of Cruise Critic devoted to Princess is located here:

There is no need to bring more than one refillable bottle of water per person on any cruise ship. The water on board is as pure, if not more pure than any bottled water. It tastes great, is FREE, and doesn't come with a plastic waste problem.

Nope...most insulin nowadays doesn't need major refrigeration...so his will be fine for a week in the cabin.

You can bring your water (but the ship's water is more than fine!) and soda... (should he be drinking soda???) isn't actually allowed, but they seldom say anything about it.

WE take a thermos of water whenever we go ashore. I also take it with me on board so I don't have to keep going to get water from my chaise. Or take a big bottle on board and just refill it on the ship.

Most ships allow each passenger to bring a 12 pack of soda aboard but I don't know about RCCL.
