I need help with transportation from NJ to NY port

A friend of mine is travelling with her family, 6 in all, to NY port to sail on Carnival Miracle. They want to be in NY one day early to sightsee. They are driving. They need to know where they can board a train and leave their cars for the 8 days or so while they are on the cruise. They figure they will take a cab from Penn or Grand Central to the hotel and a cab the next day to the pier. They will travel I-80. It really needs to someplace easy to get to and safe & secure to leave the vehicles. Thank you so much for all your help. They have a travel agent but she has been no help with this. I told them what a great resource this message board is. Thank you so very much!

There's long term parking at the pier & Newark AP (the off site lots will be better for your friends). Other than that I don't know of any place you can park for 8 days.

Does anyone know if there are any good shuttle/limo services to take people from their hotel to the port in NYC?

If you are staying in NYC, just get in a taxi. They are everywhere& the doorman from the hotel will be happy to hail one for you. You must tip him.

 

If you are in NJ, ask the concierge or the front desk at your hotel to arrange transportation for you.
