sand dollar26 Posted January 10, 2015 #1 Share Posted January 10, 2015 (edited) If anyone has ever used the dry cleaning services onboard, would you know if they iron and "starch" men's shirts and women's blouses. Also, would anyone know the charge for the service? Can OBC be applied? Thanks. S. Edited January 10, 2015 by sand dollar26
AlexDouglass Posted January 10, 2015 #2 Share Posted January 10, 2015 We regularly use both the dry cleaning and laundry, as our crossings have happened at the end of longer vacations. Quality is excellent (including starching) and while I can't quote the exact price, they're lower than most hotels. The laundry slips in the room quote a rather late return time for non-express service (I believe it may be "by 6:00 p.m."), but we've never had a problem - just ask our steward to do whatever's possible to get things back earlier. Underwatr Posted January 10, 2015 #3 Share Posted January 10, 2015 (edited) A men's formal shirt can be laundered and pressed for $6.00. Regular shirts are somewhat less (maybe $5). They use OBC if available but note that the laundry discount for Platinum and above guests is only applied if any OBC is first depleted. The non-express service is by 6 PM the following day but they came earlier in the afternoon than that. pmb1 Posted January 10, 2015 #5 Share Posted January 10, 2015 Here are the laundry, dry cleaning, and pressing charges from August 2014 on QM2 (and earlier years too). I don't mind the increase from $5 to $6 for a formal shirt since 2008, but I do miss the demise of the "30 items for $30" end-of-cruise laundry offers. alanrow Posted January 11, 2015 #6 Share Posted January 11, 2015 We have used the dry cleaning service several times and even with the "standard" level , the item usually comes back early . The prices from a UK point of view are really good , eg a jacket for $6.60 .
